It’s not happening on just FR. Reports of it on Netflix also. Busy movie day too, I guess.

This has to be a fake new item. Bombs aren’t allowed to planes nor can bombs make threats. Terrorists with bombs are, for bombs cannot walk through security nor dial up to call in a threat. If I am wrong, that would be an item altogether news worthy.

>>I keep getting Service Temporarily Unavailable. Must be a busy day at FR.

Same here. The message is:

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

It would be nice to have a formal status message when this sort of thing is going on, so the FR user community knows that management is aware of the problem.

You left out the Religion Moderator, and after all, it is Sunday.

You also left out the Cool Moderator, and that’s where you have to pay attention to the real org chart, not the published one, to make things happen.

I’m sure that everything that needs to be done, is being done.

Thanks Jim and John. We only whine when we realize how much we rely on FR, and how comfortable we’ve become that FR has been up over 99% of the time for, what 13 years? Pretty respectable record.

I’m a dot-net developer, but I gotta give your son props. How the heck he manages to keep this system flying, in Perl, is BEYOND ME.

Every bomb scare needs to be regarded as a serious threat, immediately and thoroughly investigated, with all guilty parties punished to the full extent of the law.

I was on a plane, and mentioned to the stewardess that I HAVE A BOMBastic attitude.

I was only talking about my presence and how I can 'fill up a room' with personality, but the FBI and TSA met me when we deplaned, anyways.

Go figger.

“with all guilty parties punished to the full extent of the law.”

Terrorists of all colors, religions, male, female, etc. should be publicly hanged, after conviction in a military tribunal. Terrorism should be defined as an act of war, and should be regarded as such, not a criminal act.

This includes eco-terrorists. And this crapola of “one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter” is PC non-sensical junk.

Your story reminds me of a friend of mine. He was the facitlies manager for a large corporation that had two large buildings in an urban setting, with thousands of employees.

A bomb threat was phoned in—and the bomb would go off in exactly ten minutes.

In that ten minutes, the lobbies were cleared of people, and the so were the outside streets. A quick search of all the rooms of the lobbies was conducted. The execs were informed, and they wondered when the evac order would be issued.

The answer was it would take one half hour to evac the high rise buildings. The bomber would want to do the most damage, which means the bomb would be in the lobby or just outside the entrance.

So the answer was—leave everyone where they were as they were safe. Thousands of people on the sidewalks was a very tempting target to a bomber intent on publicity and doing a lot of damage.

After ten minutes, nothing happened. Never happened that day or anytime else.

What was done seemed like the wrong thing, but it was the right thing. I’d hate to ever have to make decisions like that.

That is because the IRA mostly did not want to kill the innocent. They called in the threat for warn people away to avoid innocents getting killed. They were losing the PR battle at that time, and funds from the Ted Kennedy wing of the IRA were cut off because of innocents being killed.

Muslimes, on the other hand, their AIM is to kill as many innocents as they can.

Are those crazy, violent, hateful Tea Partiers in town again?

Oh, wait. Must not be. If they were, I'm sure that little tidbit would've been mentioned.
