'Ronald Reagan would be disappointed in you': John McCain attacks Republican field

Republican Senator John McCain today ripped into the current crop of GOP candidates, accusing them of breaking with the party's traditions by preaching 'isolationism.'

Mr McCain, the Republican candidate in the 2008 presidential elections, said if former President Ronald Reagan were still alive he would have been disappointed in last week's Republican presidential debate in which candidates voiced impatience with U.S. military efforts in Afghanistan, Iraq and now Libya.

Mr McCain told ABC's This Week: 'He would be saying: "That's not the Republican Party of the 20th century, and now the 21st century. That is not the Republican Party that has been willing to stand up for freedom for people for all over the world.'"

More likely if Reagan was alive and with us today, he would be disappointed in McCain's weak effort against Obama in 2008.

Reagan would probably also be baffled by McCain's move away from conservatism and his shift towards rinoism.

McCain needs to find a new hero.

How did McCain become the republican candidate in 2008? The media and his whining that he was the anointed and rightful heir (this time around). And the media help foist him on the American public.

2008 was not an election campaign but just another American Idol ... with the winner already chosen. Remember the old game show scandals - $64,000 Question and the like - well that was the 2008 election process.

Senator McCain thank you for your service. Now as General Douglas MacArthur said (of old soldiers) “... just fade fade away.”

Junita and Lindsey at it again. These two need to move to Massachusetts, get married and leave the rest of us alone.

"McCain has no right, none at all, to invoke Ronald Reagan about anything."

Thank you for making the same exact point I was going to make!

"Government is not a solution to our problem, government is the problem." - Ronald Reagan
This quote from RR is a direct slap at McCain's approach to things. Go away, John McCain! Time to retire!

“Senator McCain, we knew Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a friend of ours.”

Senator, shut your mouth about Ronald Reagan.

What action did Obama and Congress take against Iran? Someone needs to remind me.

When did Congress authorize military force against Libya? What’s our exit strategy? Why are we partnering with the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East?

Oh yeah, pro-Islamist president, goes by The One.

/// agreed.
and i blame open primaries, and deceptive MSM.

...and why does McCain think we should be in Libya at all?
I doubt Reagan would call it an overriding national interest.
and Gaddafi killed only a few civilians, even if you believe the Islamist “rebels” accusations.

meanwhile, Syria and Yemen kill many more, well-documented,
and documented massacres of Christians happen all over the world, and it’s crickets. Like Sudan:

He! You got it!

I say screw Massachusetts. They screwed the rest of the Country for 47 years with Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank. Why should anyone care what happens to Massachusetts.

And Reagan brought the troops home from Lebanon after the 1983 Beirut bombing when he decided they weren’t doing much good and were just targets there.
