RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - In the most significant change to U.S. cigarette packs in 25 years, the Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday released nine new warning labels that depict in graphic detail the negative health effects of tobacco use.
Among the images to appear on cigarette packs are rotting and diseased teeth and gums and a man with a tracheotomy smoking.
Also included among the labels are: the corpse of a smoker, diseased lungs, and a mother holding her baby with smoke swirling around them. They include phrases like "Smoking can kill you" and "Cigarettes cause cancer" and feature graphic images to convey the dangers of tobacco, which is responsible for about 443,000 deaths in the U.S. a year.

This all reeks of “New Thought” mental behavior modification. They are all treating us like Pavlov’s dogs instead of adults.
The regulatory arms of the federal government have Waaay too much power, what we need to do is split each regulatory agency 50 ways and let each state decide what to do.
I’ll never see them. I buy tobacco by the pound and roll my own (and no I don’t use those chemical laced tubes either).
Maybe on water bottles they will put pictures of a drowned kid on them, because all it takes is a tsp. of water to drown someone....
How about pictures of cirrhotic livers on cases of beer?
Maybe pictures of gruesome wrecks on SUV sale stickers?
Where does it stop? They do this crap with cigarettes in the UK too. I’m not a cigarette smoker, but even I think this is too much.
That would be a really good idea.
Looks like a great place for a Stephen King movie.....
.... or on medical marijuana ....

At least cigarette smokers should get to see the Osama Bin Laden pictures, since we now have a government mandate to view graphic images.
