I think this vote is based on what Republicans in DC think of Panetta’s performance at CIA.
If you have a working cell in your brain, you wouldn’t attack the best Obama’s administration has offered up. You save your fire for the ones that are so unspeakably horrible and believe me, they are legion. Recently we stopped a judicial appointment with a judicial filibuster in the Senate...an unheard of step by Republicans. This was a very young, radical leftist judge who was being fast tracked to the Supreme Court.
What’s with your type? Do you live in a time warp? Panetta has been around for years and years and years, then he was confirmed as, and has served as, the CIA director. To act like this is some new thing and that he’s not a known quantity in high office, is just ridiculous.
No, I wouldn’t have picked him for any jobs, but I’m a conservative Republican. We’re fortunate someone no worse than Panetta is placed in these top security posts, until we can get rid of this administration.
