Andrew Breitbart wasnt supposed to be sitting here in a television studio makeup chair. But when he heard that Anthony Weiner was about to announce his resignation, he dropped everything.
Mr. Breitbart, the conservative author and blogger who first published Mr. Weiners suggestive self-portraits, had ditched his book-signing in central Illinois and hopped on a flight earlier than planned to the Twin Cities, where he was booked as a marquee attraction at RightOnline, a conservative bloggers conference. To put myself in Decatur, Ill., without a satellite connection would have put me in a bad situation, he explained as a woman applied a layer of foundation to his jowly face in preparation for his appearance on CNN. (He had just finished a phone interview with Fox News; Sean Hannitys radio show would follow; then a quick break before sitting down with a documentary film crew.) Part performance artist, part polemicist, Mr. Breitbart, 42, has used his network of Web sites and their legions of followers to bring conservative media red meat. Some of his reader-generated scoops have reverberated all the way to the halls of the United States Capitol, like the Weiner photos and undercover video he released of Acorn workers offering advice on how to evade taxes and conceal child prostitution. After the videos went viral Congress ended grants to Acorn, and federal agencies severed ties with the group.
The stories and videos Mr. Breitbart plays up on his Web sites which include Big Government, Big Journalism and Big Hollywood tend to act as political Rorschach tests. If you agree with him, you think what he does is citizen journalism. If you dont, his work is little more than crowd-sourced political sabotage that freely distorts the facts.

This article is posted in the New York Times Media & Advertising section, providing coverage of media-related events in a straight-forward non-political, non-confrontational style and perspective.
The author, seemingly foaming at the mouth embarks on a no-holes-barred scorched earth policy in the wanton character assassination, vilification of the conservative agenda in a way that would have done Goebbels proud.
Certainly, the loss of power, the fall from grace, the usurpation of its once gilded status, the staggering financial losses, have all taken a mighty toll on this eviscerated media carcass the Times has become, in the guise of the rantings of a madman as demonstrated here.
Pravda of the 1950s would be so envious of the New York Slimes.
Thanks lbryce.
Breitbart is an impressive guy.
What?! The "husky," "jowly" Breitbart would never steal the NYT's bread and butter.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read statements like this from an alleged "newspaper." They say this without any concept that news stories can be verified. Whether Breitbart stories are true or lies is a verifiable matter, not a matter of political perspective. And with one or two misfires, Breitbart pretty much is accurate. He writes fact-grounded stories. As many Libs who work with him attest to.
Since this article freely distorts the facts I would say Peters is all wee weed up.
Note to Peters. If you did your job, there would be no breitbart. unintended consequences.
Breitbart, you magnificent bastard! You’ve got all the right people hating your guts and hissing at your name. Ah, if only we weren’t both married to other people ...
Andrew may very well buy the ny slimes when they finally hit bottom... if there is anything left by then.

“I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast.”
General William Tecumseh Sherman
You mean like the crowd-sourced attempt by WaPo and the NYTimes to try and destroy Palin by digging thru 24,000 emails?
This story is three days old — published June 26, not today.
“Mr. Breitbart, the conservative author and blogger who first published Mr. Weiners suggestive self-portraits...”
Umm-nooo-...the Weiner was the FIRST to publish his “self-portraits”...
This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:
Correction: June 29, 2011
An article on Monday about the conservative author and blogger Andrew Breitbart described incorrectly the reaction of an N.A.A.C.P. audience to a remark by Shirley Sherrod, a black Agriculture Department official. In a short video clip of the speech, which Mr. Breitbart released as evidence that Ms. Sherrod acknowledged not helping a white farmer, some audience members nodded and murmured in apparent approval; they did not applaud, although Mr. Breitbart stated that they did. (The full video showed that Ms. Sherrods speech was about overcoming racial prejudice, and that she did go to great lengths to help the white farmer.)
uber-liberals and the radical left realize Briebart is the audio and video equivalent to Drudge; he’s already brought down a far left politician in weiner and a far-left taxpayer funded criminal organization in ACORN; as such he is a major threat to uber-liberals and the extreme left and they are frightened of him- hence the need to use their favorite talking piece- the NYSlimes, to smear him....
Breitbart providing the news the Marxist Media neglects.
I sincerely apologize for the frequency in which I’ve posted articles as Front Page news. I assure you that The issue of me excessively posting articles as Front Page News will not present itself ever again.
Disgusting hit piece by the Slimes on the incomparable Breitbart.
“The damage Mr. Breitbart suffered to his credibility after he posted a tipsters edited video that showed an Agriculture Department official, Shirley Sherrod, making what appeared to be prejudiced remarks seems not to matter as far as his fans are concerned. Also, the Acorn videos appeared to show a man walking into Acorn offices dressed as a pimp, when in fact he was not.
I think his actions show that if hes not willing to distort, he is at least careless with the facts, Mr. McPherson added. “
Who is “careless with the facts?”
The point was that the audience enjoyed Sherrod’s tale of screwing the white man.
The point was he posed as a pimp to film their treatment of a clearly sleazy lawbreaking applicant. Acorn did not see through the disguise.
