Petty should grow up. Who cares if she's using your music? It's exposure for your work which you desperately need you has-been, stoner burn out. You're living up to your name---petty.

He has an appropriate surname.

(In Memphis on January 20, 2009, pump price were $1.49. We all know what happened after that.)

Bachmann released a statement saying she is surprised that a legendary NASCAR driver would have a problem with her using the song, and she’s considering a boycott of STP fuel treatment. Ed Rollins could not be reached for comment.

that’s a real heartbreaker.
Maybe Obaammy could use “You Wreck Me” for his debt reduction and ecomomic plan entrance theme song.

I think Petty should authorize his “Free Falling” for use in the Obama campaign.

I just got into a massive flame war on Willie’s Facebook page about this stupid loyalty to the Democrats. The legalize pot crowd is just dumb for believing that the Democrats are going to do anything different than the Republicans about legalizing marijuana. They are all stoner idiots.

This happens in every single election. Some Republican uses rock music as a theme and the singer gets his or her panties in a twist over it. Remember how Springstein whined about Reagan using “Born in the USA”? Or how that freak who made noises blew a gasket when Bush Senior used “Don’t Worry Be Happy” as his theme? Republicans need to realize that all they are doing by using the music is giving these has-beens a chance to be important and self-righeous again.

Does anyone know the law in these situations? I think Michele Bachmann should stop playing the washed up, lefty loser’s lousy music anyway, but can he force her to?
What rights does a song writer or recording “artist” have to restrict the use of music that he/she has sold recording of to the public?
To: MissesBush
What simple minded twit in the Bachmann campaign
decided it was OK to STEAL someone else's property ?

Tom Petty, whose vocals sound like a 60-year-old man imitating a pouting, petulant brat?
This is actually a blessing. Michele can do FAR better for campaign music.

As one of the little people that made Tom rich back in the day, I'm disappointed. Well I hope when we reach socialist utopia, Tom will then be playing for free. Actually all of his music should just become public domain now in the spirit of Obama.
