Fact: As early as 2008 officials in this administration cite American guns as being the primary arms of violent Mexican criminals (which is proven false). Eric Holder states unequivocally (in 2009) that this is the primary reason that the administration will seek to “re-institute the ban on the sale of assault weapons”.

Fact: This administration caused at least thousands of weapons to be illegally sold to people known to resell said weapons across the Mexican border.

Fact: Between 2009 and 2010 more than 3500 Gun were allowed to “walk” into Mexico.

Fact: In a Jan. 25, 2011, Phoenix press conference, Special Agent in Charge William Newell was asked whether ATF agents were ever ordered to allow guns to “walk” into Mexico. He answered, “Hell no!”

Fact: In a February 4, 2011, response letter to Grassley, Justice Department Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Ron Weich described as “false” Grassley’s assertion that ATF had knowingly allowed guns to be purchased and walked into Mexico.

Fact: Leaked e-mail traffic from spring 2010 documents show that ATF management from Acting Director Kenneth Melson on down were personally briefed in Phoenix on Operation Fast and Furious by Newell.

Fact: The ATF intentionally broke national and international laws with this operation.

Fact: The official ATF explanation for this operation, after being forced to admit that they allowed gun into Mexico, was to allow criminals to buy and transport guns to Mexico so that the ATF could later tie them back to drug cartels when they were used in crimes.

Fact: The ATF could not track firearms used in Mexican crimes except at the request of the Mexican government.

Fact: If the ATF was requested by Mexico to provide firearm tracking information, that request is not likely to provide the information that the ATF said they wanted.

Fact: If the ATF could actually tie a firearm they caused to be illegally sold to a Mexican cartel...so what? They have no jurisdiction in Mexico, no arrest powers, and even if they were to provide this information to Mexican officials it gains local law enforcement nothing.

Fact: At least 150 people have been killed with guns that the ATF knowingly and illegally allowed to be sold.

Fact: Not one person has been arrested by allowing guns to cross the border.

Everyone that can be linked to the decision process is guilty of deprivation of rights under color of law which in this case is a capital crime. A good case could be made that those same people are also guilty of treason.

“The investigation is still pending. I'm not going to comment on a current investigation. I've made very clear my views that would not be an appropriate step by the ATF, and we've got to find out how that happened.

The admission that the gunwalking actually happened is new. His previous statement from last March only indicated that it "may" have happened.

We know from emails that ATF Director Melson was involved. He only has two bosses within the DOJ, according to the DOJ organizational chart: the Deputy AG and the Attorney General. Including Obama, that makes three bosses, two of whom have denied authorizing this operation.

How long is it going to take to investigate whether the one other possible choice authorized it?

You have an excellent point in pointing out a tactic of stonewalling they could be doing.The Assistant Attorney General,Obama and Holder have denied they know anything.(All but Obama under oath.)

The DAG is under Holder. It is impossible for the Deputy AG to authorize anything without Holder.

This is clearly an implied admission that Holder (his AG) ordered gun running–just not into Mexico (in support of Obama’s scheme to violate the 2nd Amendment).
