Darn. I was hoping they wouldn't do that. When they work, the country loses.

“...to work on cutting the deficit”.

I suspect the deficit will be higher on July 5th, than it is today.

Funding bills originate with the Senate? Is that why they’re...oh wait...

No, Harry Reid was told by Obama to cancel the Senate’s vacation so that the House would be pressured to do the same.

Let the Senate sit around and do nothing. Take the holiday off House members, and say, well Obama’s going to Martha’s Vineyard!

Obama’s internal poll numbers must be worse than anyone imagines.

Yeah, right. Since they don’t do anything during the rest of the time I find it hard to give a damn.

The US Congress is BIG
on ACORN brothels (kiddie prostitution).

But a budget? Treason? Not so much.

The Senate will forgo its scheduled recess for the week of July 4 to work on cutting the odds that government spending will be reduced.

There. Fixed it.

They should start with the Ryan plan, and go from there (alot more valid than Israel starting with ‘67 borders and going from there). If they don’t, then ask Reed (sick) where his budget is.

And they can use the remainder of the time working on the wording for the budget amendment (ie: govt is 18% of GDP, means to get from todays 24% to 18% in, say, 2 years or whatever...)

So does this mean that Obama will now cancel his vacation in August to show solidarity with the Senate? No more golf outings until the debt limit issue is solved?

Of course not. Since when do the representatives and supporters of this Administration celebrate this country’s existence?

Seriously, having the Senate recess is important. They aren’t like Obama and going on golf trips and vacations. They are going back to their districts, doing town halls and meeting with their constituencies. This is part of their job.

Between the lines

#1: They will simply move the parties back to the DC area

#2: Senators will be on Maryland Eastern Shore or Virginia Hunt Country every afternoon and evening

#3: It will be a very good week for the high-end women's, fur and perfume shops in the Capitol area, because the hookers there will not lose the income they usually miss because the Senators are out of town for the week.

#4: Out-of-town hookers, back in the outling states, will get another week of unemployment to compensate then for their losses.

Be well. Have a good 4th!

LOL. Harry the punk didn’t think the budget was important LAST year, the Democrat Congress FAILED TO PASS A BUDGET for the first time since 1974...when another Democrat congress failed. NOW we’re supposed to believe he gives a $#!& about fiscal responsibility?

Hilarious that the democrats have take this approach, with 80-odd golf outings & 58 vacation (real vacation days, not Camp David days) days costing millions of dollars to Obama’s credit so far.

A 19th century sage—reportedly Daniel Webster—once observed: “Now is the time when men work quietly in the fields and women weep softly in the kitchen; the legislature is in session, and no man’s property is safe.”

If all the GOP and a handful of Democrats would just flip old Harry the bird and go home, he wouldn’t have a quorum.
