>>You know what? I think the answer’s probably no<<

Okay, so this guy, who probably never met Lennon, is more credible than the man who spent a lot of time with him at the end of his life.

All the anecdotes are flat-out lies or exaggerations.

Got it.

I like this author, but it’s a little arrogant to declare what he declared.

This is a lefty journalist whose head would explode if he were to believe the truth so he’s content to live in make-believe land. Lennon was a wealthy man and knew if he wanted to keep what he rightfully earned that the GOP had his best interest in mind.

I heard this being discussed and some unknown said that John Lennon liked to pull peoples legs. This could have been his own little joke.

Lennon being a Reagan supporter makes sense. Lot’s of boomers changed there views on life and the world as the 70’s ended. A lot had kids, like Lennon, and time to review what their radical views actually accomplished. This story on Lennon liking Reagan is true. We have someone on the scene back in the day give specifics with his anecdotes. What does the writer use to support his argument? Nothing.

I read a few months back that John Lennon had accepted Christ as Savior as well.

Was John Lennon a secret Reagan Republican?

One has to consider the difference between what a man says and sings and what he actually does.

"Imagine no possessions. I wonder if you can."

Well, actually, John, I can imagine, without even trying, that I will never, ever, own several apartments in The Dakota, right across the street from Central Park, like you did and Yoko Ono still does.

But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one night. :-)

Considering that Lennon died before Reagan became president I doubt if he found much of interest in RR in those days.

The truth hurts especially liberals. They just keep inventing their own realities to stay in their own little global fantasy world.

I completely believe this for the simple fact he was a guy who tried different scenes like one would wear a coat then he would dump it and wanted to have nothing to do with it again. He did that with the Maharishi stuff, found out the guy was an idiot then wrote a hate song “Sexy Sadie”. After he made his most liberal album “Sometime in NYC”, he told Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman they were idiots and went off and lived in the Dakota like a true Capitalist pig, and my father who is a retired NYC cop said he use to donate money every year to the cops for Christmas and once made a big donation so they could buy bullet proof vests (ironic enough). I really think this whole liberal image he has is a result of Yoko who to this day promotes it because it’s most profitable.

And BTW, who the F cares what the dudes political beliefs were, he was a melodic genius whose coat tails McCartney and Harrison totally rode on. McCartney - Last great album: Band on the Run, an album of Beatle outtakes. When they first got signed, the best McCartney came up with was “Love me do”. Lennon came up with “Please please me” which shot them to #1.. He also wrote “If I fell” “I should have known better” ‘Do you want to know a secret” “Hard days night” “Happy just to dance with you” “Tell me why” “You can’t do that” on and on all by himself and you can hear the demo tapes on Youtube that proves it. His writing is the ONLY reason they got so much attention. If it was left to Paul they would have been seen as another Gerry and the Pacemakers and faded. Quick: When’s the last Beatle quality song Paul wrote? 1972? Lennon wrote songs of that quality all the way to his death. “Beautiful boy” “Watching the wheels” “Grow old with me” “Mind games” songs McCartney couldnt even conceive of.

THIS JUST IN:

The late Gerry Marsden of the world famous Gerry & the Pacemakers, was said to become a Pat Paulsen libertarian shortly before passing.

No word yet on the political inclinations of the late Herman of Herman’s Hermits.

We’ll keep you posted.

If my memory sme, Lennon pleaded for entrance and citizenship in the USA for personal reasons and one of the biggest was that Mother England was taxing his butt off. John was fine with socialism until started having to pay for it.
