Married couples with children account for only 20 percent of all households – down from 43 percent in 1950. With so many children witnessing divorce and growing up in broken homes, marriage has become just a trinket, not a jewel to be prized.

Still not convinced?

Unfortunately, the liberals in the MSM, Hollywood idiots, etc. are cheerleaders for this issue.

And the liberals have framed the debate as one of discrimination against homosexuals.

Of all the debates and discussions I have heard about same-sex marriage, very few have talked about why same-sex marriage is good for society. Mostly we hear that it’s discriminatory not to allow same-sex marriage, rather than why it would be good for society.

The framing of the debate is important, because if people are persuaded that it’s discriminatory not to allow same-sex marriage, then they won’t listen to reasoned discussion about why marriage and family are important, and why it should not be re-defined. And in today’s politically correct world, charges of discrimination unfortunately carry weight in the court of public opinion, and the New York legislature.

Whatever they have it isn’t marriage equality until they can create life.

Excellent point! And now, they are planning to take it to the Supreme Court with the intention of overturning DOMA. Wake up America!

As far as creating life goes, some are creative that way.

I’ve heard stories of lesbian couples who use sperm from the brother of partner A to conceive a child in partner B. They say this gives both females a genetic link to the baby.

As of now, most lesbians who have children had them the old fashioned way, with men, before they got older and decided that they were really meant to live an alternative lifestyle.

Whenever I see those blue stickers with the gold equal sign on it, I want to superimpose the big red circle with the diagonal slash over it.
It is not and never will be equal!

Soon every state will fly the same flag and when that happens, why bother having states?

The agenda is the same however taken on from several different directions, but it is always the same agenda...Photobucket

Welcome to the Godless society.

They have already addressed that argument with adoption and/or surrogacy. The traditional arguments of nature, no longer work.

There’s not even a discussion about the benefit of marriage anymore, so why should anyone be surprised that the argument for “benign gayness” is taking hold now.

If you are held in bondage, and you know your child will be ripped from you and sold for chattel, it’s likely that you’ll be reticent to consent to enter that whole dilemma and remain childless.

If men see no-fault divorces all around them, or marriages ended in “the golden years” after children are gone and one in the marriage decides to run off and find the “right person...” leaving the other in the lurch during the closing years when you need the other....of course the men have probably contributed the majority share of the conservative side. But with gays, liberals, the “weak at the knees” otherwise conservative men, and the tacit cooperation of otherwise conservative women, where else could we find ourselves but here?

We know the liberal feminazis have been at their trade, but where have the conservative women been, supporting the men accused of workplace harassment, child protective service violations, etc??? Where have the men been, defending the boy scouts and football, and just being men.

There’s little respect left in society for a man’s man-of-the-house...and I’m not just talking about TV sitcoms where we know we’re pilloried. Listen to some of the women around you at church or at the coffee house at the other table. It’s NOT just the feminazis and gays diluting marriage, it’s a majority of society diminishing the family.

Adoption is not creation. How does the surrogacy work for two males? Raising they can do, creation is a whole different matter.

Adoption isn’t the same as creating life.

Surrogacy is essentially someone else making a baby for someone who can’t, and then giving it away. It isn’t the same as a man and a woman creating a life and then raising that person.

A gay couple can aquire a child through kidnapping if they were so inclined.

I sure you are aware of “people” aquiring children by cutting them out of their mother...

Just because you can aquire a child through some means doesn’t mean you did it right in the eyes of God.

And that is what this really boils down to, what is right in the eyes of God.

I suppose if one doesn’t believe in God, then one can pretty much do whatever the hell one wants.

And that is a good part of the reason mankind finds itself going down the rabbit hole...

God has been forsaken.

One more anecdote!

Went to a wedding recently. Preacher quoted Genesis and some “subjugated” references to Eve-from-Adam’s-rib, etc.

It was interesting to watch how that raised some eyebrows and smirks from the older people, and worse, elicited outright giggling from the friends of the groom/bride near their age.

Imagine a time when such giggling would’ve been greeted by stern glares all around! Now, not so much as a crossways glance. And social pressure on top of that to remain silent.

To most, and I’m afraid perhaps even the couple, it was a nice party with matching dresses and tuxes...

The equal sign means that any and all relationships are equal. But, I suppose, in true Animal Farm fashion, some relationships (ie gay) are more equal than others.

In a time, such giggling wouldn't have even been contemplated.

A time of respectful living with a wanton hand brought out to a loving God and his sacrifice laden son.

I agree with both of you but these arguments no longer work against the plague of gay marriage. Read the article! The downfall of marriage began with contraception which redefined how and when life was to be created. Up until 1930, ALL christian denominations condemned artificial contraception. As pressure from feminists mounted, one by one, they caved except for the Catholic Church. There are many catholic families that defied the church’s prohibition of contraception. Today, procreated life = “chosen” life;hence, the argument supports that of gays who apply the same argument.

there is no argument. You just say No,no,no repeatedly.

Gay marraige means gay adoption and the empowerment of the big rich and powerful gay organizations to begin bullying and suing. They have extensive legal departments.

It means ‘gay sensitivity training’ in all corporations and workplaces and all state and federeal government offices.

It means churchs being sued and taken over by these big gay organizations and Christians driven away and property and assets going to the gays. Look at the Episcopal church.

Gay marriage means sex education on homosexuality in grade school and high school and sensitivity classes in college.

There is no end to it.

That’s whsy I am against gay marriage.

It burns me that the gay organizations are so rich; the big corporations of America have nothing but contempt for the little people.

Go to the gay websites; they are working day and night. there are hundreds of gay organizations and they put endless pressure on legislators and churchmen, endless. they always request a meeting and a ‘conversation’ where they tell heartrending stories of mistreatment of gays.

They are so agressive and so hostile.
