Wow, 4,000 miles! Texas is big but it's hardly 4,000 miles from Laredo to the Oklahoma border.

The highway /distance mileage is likely measured by both directions, not just northbound lanes.

Sorry, not even close. I think what the author would have us believe was that Perry wanted to build the "super highway" from down into Mexico all the way up into Canada. As if he had the power to do that.

Look, you can dance around this all the time, and rehash the mileage all ya want, but the fact is the proposed Mexican superhighway, which Perry supported, was to go from Mehico to Canada...

And Perry also supported it being run by a foreign country.

He may be conservative compared to the dreck that we get up here in Massachusetts but he should be a lot more conservative for a state like Texas where the people would really back him up if he went to the mat for real conservative issues like illegal immigration.

I use illegal immigration as a kind of litmus test because, for the ten years that I have been looking into the problem, I have found that illegal immigration is a look at what is wrong and crooked with American politics. Illegal immigration is about three presidents lying to the people, (that includes George W. Bush), Democrats and Republicans fighting over votes and corrupt Chamber of Commerce types selling out their country for cheap labor. It is not a pretty picture. Most of the corrupt people in this country can seem like really respectable, “pillars-of-the-comunity” types. That is why our country is so mixed up. It is not just the Rod Blagoyevich types that are ruining the country, it is many distinguished looking, well- spoken, “gentlemanly” types who don’t look like they would be corrupt. We are surrounded by lies, lies, lies.

RINO pimping is not in the best interests of conservatives at all. We’ve had enough amnesty RINOs to last a lifetime and though the RINO party may be all for it, conservatives are not. No amount or preening and stamping of feet ala McCain on the border is going to change 10 years of pandering to illegals and pushing the North American Union.

Unless amnesty has now become a conservative goal, Perry is not conservative. Unlike liberals, conservatives don’t need celebrities to tell us how to think. We can look at the facts and determine for ourselves who should get our vote. If your only support and defense for Perry’s RINO behavior is to say look at all the stars who support him, you’re in the wrong party.

The first republican president ever said, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” Obama forgot that and there are some republicans who would like to turn that phrase into a lie as well.

We conservatives continue to stand for the truth.

He supported it being run by a private company based in Madrid, not by a foreign country.

It already operates in Chicago, Indiana, and part of 130 in Texas.

There are a number of things that will not work well for him as a candidate nor as President.

His position on eminent domain, his signing of the hate crime bill, and his support for in-state tuition for illegal aliens, opposition to a border fence and refusal to crack down on services to illegal aliens are not stances the majority of conservatives want in another President, and certainly not from Texas.

Three Presidents in a row - two Democrats and one Republican - have been more supportive of illegal aliens from Mexico than they have the rights of their own citizens. Enough is enough!

If you like as your governor, that’s all fine and good. I just won’t support him in a run for President.

You’re perceptive.

Here is what a Texas freeper said recently.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There are so many that the freebie anchor baby deal from Parkland-o is known throughout mexico.

That one factor has substantially increased property taxes for Dallas homeowners.

Just the anchor babies.

And they are doubling down as we speak with an additional new facility.

“and is the largest hospital construction project in America. The facility will encompass 2.5 million square feet with 862 beds, adding desperately needed space”

Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That’s almost 44 per day—every day)!

A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.

That’s 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas

This crap started in the seventies and by 1980 it was already out of hand.

Today their are large general areas of Dallas, NOT just neighborhoods but entire sides of the city, that mexican nationals are at a practical 100% of the population and there is NO English.

The crime is rampant, and on the original subject, a fair estimate of underage illegal females getting those free trips through the maternity wards is about 15%. They average about 15 years old for their FIRST kid.

Any of the illegals arrested for this?

Not a single damn cop in sight. Too much work and the illegals have no bail / lawyer money.

Perry has been the governor for the longest period, in Texas history.

I’m pretty sure the problem arises in agreeing on who is an “objective patriot”.

I’ve been paying attention to this kind of stuff since I enlisted at 17 during Vietnam.

4,000 miles in Texas would have to include all the potential mileage of many future highways of which Texas does need many miles built today to ease the conjestion. Texas currently has the following in interstate miles:

Texas, 17 routes, totaling 3,233.45 miles

The longest Interstate route is I-90 from Seattle WA to Boston MA at 3020.54 miles.

Oh by the way, who do you propose we nominate to get this anti-American jerk out of the White House?

And with the powers the Governor of Texas has, what are Perry’s options? The county Sheriff city police are responsible for law enforcement, and are not under the purview of the Governor.

What did she say in any of her 4 articles that is a lie? Credibility is based on conveying facts. If you find her not credible, or not particularly credible, why not?

Other than that, if she is credible, than the information she has summarized in one place for these 4 candidates has value to me in screening out the RINOs.

You point out the lies in her summation of Perry and I’ll be happy to discount her as a credible source of information.

Constitutionally, yes. Could he have made more of a fuss vocally and tried harder to persuade the legislature or locals, yes. The Texas Governor is an extremely limited and weak position, in which he can basically command the National Guard, veto legislation, fill judicial vacancies until election, and use the power of the message.

I would love for the idiots who wrote this crap to compare Perry's time in Politics to Ronald Reagan's political history. Reagan was not a Conservative from the time he was born and made bad decisions even in his last term. Rick “big hair” critics are flaming fools.

Considering what this is costing the tax payers, the enormous strain on the system etc, it's begs the question:

Why didn't he?

Perry is a stealth RINO as someone pointed out. This colonization of Texas (and the United States) has gone on during HIS watch. Texas is going the way of California which is now just a northern outpost of Mexico. But Perry and the people who are pulling his strings are doing something that the RINOS and Democrats have been wanting to do for a long time, they are reducing the percentages of those feisty, pain-in-the-@ss Anglo descendents of the pioneer types. You know, the type of people who put up a fight and stand up for their rights.

Shakespeare said that the pen is mightier than the sword—so is the womb.
