The TTC was proposed in a stealth way, with each state building its part of the highway. This way the they could avoid the approval of Congress which has control over federal highways.

I agree, although Texas doesn’t produce the mass conservatism we are seeing in states like Georgia, Arizona and even Florida lately. The GOP regularly sends fairly moderate people to DC and to Austin. KBH and Cornyn for example, are both much less desirable than real leaders like DeMint, Rubio, and Mike Lee.

As for Illegals, I agree. It is a critical litmus test. Perry is mixed bag on the issue. He’s strong on border defense...one of the best advocates. Other than that it is mixed. Not sure who would get nominated who is great on this issues, though, looking at the field.

Michele Bachmann got a B- grade from one of the immigration watch dog groups. They other candidates did not do very well.

Probably because Speakers Craddick and Straus wouldnt do anything, Dallas has had a lesbian latina sherrif since 05, and the majority of Dallas “residents” live outside the city, so the large Hispanic population of Dallas has voted what they want. Its the same reason the House hasnt pushed more of what we want in the US Congress. It is fruitless in the current political reality.

A real conservative who is articulate and can speak up for conservative values will lead the people to the right and could beat Obama. Last time we chose a bumbling RINO who didn’t believe in anything, so he lost. We need to concentrate on selecting people who have vision and clear thinking who will bring the people along with them.

Obama was an unknown with little experience but had a “message” which turned out to be a bunch of inflated nonsense but many people went along with it becuase at least he had a message whereas McCain did not have a message. We should not be afraid of a true conservative candidate because the American people are closer to being conservatives than liberals. Remember that Ronald Reagan was a no-apologies conservative who was elected twice.

If we select a clear thinking conservative, this candidate will grow in public stature as he/she begins to win in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina etc. People will become familiar with the candidate who will quickly gain in name recognition. From then on, the election would have begun in earnest and voters will be paying attention, therefore our conservative candidate will have the ears of the voters and will be able to sell the conservative message to the people.

We don’t have to go with RINOs in order to win the presidency.

Lousey candidate.

Will not allow repeal of Obamacare, or the dismantling of the Fed. Will not get us out of the UN. Will not end the current attack on our Christian foundation.

Excellent Global socialist though!

wolfcreek and his ilk are very much afraid of this kind of article; truth is to them as the cross is to a vampire.

You miss on it all.

We need someone whose win will mean reversing the tyranny that pleases Perry and Obama.

not surprised to hear the lackluster results. Bachman does seem to be good. Did they grade Cain and Palin? Just curious.

Rothschild Money has Directly & Chiefly Funded & Promoted George Soros

Theories that bear up to epistemological tests are found to be facts.

Think of the Frankfurt Rothschilds as the prototype “limousine liberals,” horsedrawn.

4,000 miles in Texas would have to include all the potential mileage of many future highways

Well, regardless of what she meant, that's not what she said. And I believe what she said was meant to deceive.

Presently, there is not enough money in the highway fund to build or maintain the roads Texas needs. Plans for many of Texas future highways have been on the drawing boards for over 10 years, unfunded.

I-35 is already a horror to drive in many places as are I-10, 410 and 1604 in San Antonio (of which I'm most familiar). Used to be I could time my driving to avoid the crush but now it only lets up at night. Many "loops" are obsolute by the time they get funded and built. Whether it's a "corridor" which BTW would carry not only cars but power (gas and electric) lines and information (cables) or "toll roads", something will have to give.

Maybe if the feds and the state politicians would keep their hands out of the gasoline tax till we wouldn't be in this fix. Sorta like that Social Security "lock box" the fed broke into. But alas, they didn't.

Seems not many people here are willing to give Perry the benefit of the doubt when it come to the failed TTC. They won't concede that he understands the highway problem and the critical problem it will become in the future. They accuse him of taking bribes. Show me some evidence please.

Progress is painful.

Perry is a stealth RINO as someone pointed out. This colonization of Texas (and the United States) has gone on during HIS watch.

Yep.

The TTC was proposed in a stealth way

What exactly does "stealth way" mean?

Let's figure this out logically. You mean Perry was somehow supposed to make a secret deal with some foreign company to built it (taking a kickback of course). Then secretly confiscate all the land needed from Laredo to the Oklahoma border. And then proceed with the building before anybody knew what was going on or could stop him.

And this was supposed to happen secretly in all the OTHER states too, from Texas to the Canadian border?

If this is what you mean then I'd like to recommend the book "The Death of Common Sense". And truly, I don't mean that in a nasty way.

Wrong. She’s from Chicago and was a friend of Hillary there. Now she lives in Tennessee and is a liberal blogger.
