I know it was Garry, obviously I made a mistake, but you are stuck with it I guess. Maybe you could change your handle?
>> “he’s named the nominee, there will be lots of crow to swallow around here.” <<
.
If he’s the nominee, we’ve been McCained again, and the country has no hope whatsoever.
Perry is no secret to a thinking person.
wolfcreek has difficulty seeing his hypocrisy.
how many “i”s in itsahoot?
I find it ironic that Rick Perry's fan club always shrugs "geez! nobody's PERFECT!" whenever someone points out flaws in his governing record, but they respond with "Sarah Palin endorsed him! Sarah's not good enough for ya!?" as if her endorsement is infallible and somehow "proves" by itself that he is a great conservative. First off, she was endorsing him over a couple of crop of horrible opponents. Just because he was the best choice for Governor given the alternatives, doesn't mean he's the best choice for President. Second, Sarah Palin's endorsements are mostly solid but she's made her fair share of bad endorsements as well. For example, in the California U.S. Senate primary, she endorsed Carly Fiorina and said Fiorina was a solid conservative and a "winner". Fiorina turned out to be neither in the general election.
So I'm just wondering why Rick Perry's fan club is always complaining "nobody's perfect!!" in response to Ricky's record but then acting as if Sarah Palin's record and endorsements are flawless.
You are over generalizing just a bit there, (I never said Perry was perfect or not) As a matter of fact, if you look back at some of my old posts 4 or 5 years ago, I led a campaign to hang the man over the TTC, Vaccinations, the border, etc. (figuratively) I've heard and repeated all this rhetoric before.
I just think, today, he's better positioned to beat Obama than anyone else. Bottom line.
You do bring up a good question though because NONE of these candidates are perfect. There's no such thing and never will be.
SORRY TO DISAPPOINT YA'LL.
I agree. And on the conservative front, specifically social conservatism, I think there are two valid ways to be a social conservative. I think Texas, as a voting bloc, is more of the populist strand, where they are conservative and want the government to push traditional ideals. Then some are socially conservative, who dont want the government involved in pushing ideals, whether traditional or “progressive.” In both cases, you have socially conservative people, but both can claim the other is not “conservative.” I think this is a big issue that is keeping the conservative movement from coalescing.
Gary I thought you were going to change you handle, else how will I ever find you again.
If you haven’t figured it out, I am just messin wifya
Read again what Nelson said about it.
BTW, don't fail to mention Aspen Institute with the rest.
Globalism is anti-American and evil, no matter what one believes about it.
Maybe we shouldn’t search for the perfect candidate, but rather one that knows they are not perfect, but yet seeks the council of the One that is.
If we keep electing self-serving king wannabes then this Nation as a Republic is dead.
Let’s see, what are those three branches of government again? Oh never mind the Execitive branch has no responsibility to enforce the laws of the State, they only have the power to pardon, not enforce right?
1) Nobody is perfect, therefore you should stop criticizing Perry's record as Governor. If you criticize Perry, you must be demanding perfection.
2) Sarah Palin's endorsements ARE perfect, therefore you should not question them. If Sarah Palin endorses Rick Perry (even if she only endorsed him for Governor and NOT President), that's absolutely rock-solid irrefutable PROOF he is the best man for the job. No further evidence is needed. If you disagree with it, you must hate Sarah.
And I wrong or is Rick Perry's fan club contradicting themselves? If nothing is perfect, then how come Sarah Palin's endorsements are infalliable? There's no logic to these pro-Perry arguments.
The people will no longer accept the lesser of two evils put in place by the RINO establishment. This conservative will answer to God for his vote, so take your RINO attitude and stuff it. I have voted in every election since 1960, and I can tell you now, I will write in before I vote for another RINO. The blame will belong to the ones who call for us to sell our soul one more time, and it isn’t going to happen.
He that hath an ear, let him hear.
Read up on the responsibilities of the Governor of Texas. It is a very limited role.
Maybe you should send a few million illegals home, then your highway congestion might clear up.
Yep, you and the editor are full of yourselves. ;>)
I didn’t say stop this or campaign for that, I told you what I’m going to do. That’s it!
Take it up with somebody who fits ya’ll *mold*.
Every Pol I know is wealthy and seeks a higher office. More power, more money. It comes with the territory. And we created it.
Very good analysis.
Conservatives better figure out how to work together cause the progressives sure know how.
There are no perfect politicians, same as perfect people and as long as some (enough) conservatives continue to insist on perfection, we will usually be looking at another dem/liberal in the whiteyhouse. Not saying we should again have hold noses quite so hard as with juan mclame.
The Vdare blog of May 31, 2011 had the Numbers USA grading of the presidential candidates:
Barach Obama F-
Ron Paul F
Gary Johnson F
Rick Santorum F
Chris Christie F
Sarah Palin D-
Mitt Romney D
Herman Caine D+
Thankfully, I wrote this down.
Michelle Bachmann is on the immigration committee which was formed by Tom Tancredo and she has an A rating for her whole congressional career.
This NASCO Highway is proposed to facilitate the moving of Chinese goods from the Mexican ports, through Mexican highways and through Texas and other states going up to Canada. This was done in a stealth way because it is in effect a federal highway since it links many states but in order to avoid congressional oversight, they decided to build the highway piecemeal—one state at a time. Texas would build its part right up to the Oklahoma border, then Oklahoma would build its part etc. etc. eventually going to the Canadian border. Mexican trucks would not have to stop at the border as they would have the new radio technology devices that would check them through.
Remember that there was a time about fifteen years ago when we would not have thought it possible that most of the items in the stores would have “made in China” on them. Nor did we believe that many American factories would be closed to Chinese labor competition, but it happened. It took lots of people, with lots of money and pull working together to achieve this. It appears that these same powerful business interests are also behind this. As far as paying off people, how many people do you suppose had to be paid off before NAFTA and the Chinese trade deals? Many if not most politicians are paid off in one way or another. They just do it in legal ways—honest graft.
