Obama tells donors, "Remember 2008!?"

Obama seemed to acknowledge the dampened expectations Thursday during a fundraiser in Philadelphia, telling campaign donors that he knew there would be setbacks in governing, just like he faced setbacks during his campaign in 2008. But he appealed to supporters to show the same vigor they did more than two years ago to send him to victory.

"I understand that sometimes generating the same energy is difficult," he said at an event later. "We've gone through two years of very difficult work." He then added, with a chuckle: "My hair is grayer. I'm not as young and vibrant as I was."

I remember 2008 before Obama, and I was better off then.

There was a very articulate Black lady on Sean Hannity last night. She said that the American Blacks, who vote, will vote overwhelmingly for B. Hussein. But, she says the Black, and Hispanic, turn-out for Obama in 2012 will be NOTHING like it was in 2008.
I've been saying for months that the new has worn off, the novelty is gone. They've had their Black Prez and he has not come through for the brothas like they thought he would. They will not turn out in '12 like they did in '08. Same goes for the College Grads who swooned at his rallies in '08 but can't find jobs now.

As it seeks both big checks and small donations, however, Obama's finance operation has had to mend fences with donors who are ambivalent or even angry about some policy matters. "I can't think of a constituency that doesn't feel frustrated," said Democratic National Committee member Robert Zimmerman, an Obama donor. "But at the end of the day, this is a president who provides the best hope for the values donors share." First up: the Wall Street community, many of whom recoiled when Obama called them "fat cats" whose misdeeds led to the 2008 financial crisis. Many also have resisted his efforts to enact financial regulatory reform.

Another target audience for the campaign has been gay and lesbian supporters, who were among the president's most enthusiastic and deep-pocketed donors in 2008. But Obama's position on gay marriage - he supports civil unions but not full marriage rights - has chilled some of that enthusiasm. In a New York fundraiser with the gay community last week, a handful of people shouted out "Marriage!" during the president's remarks. Obama responded, "I heard you guys." "We've had a roller coaster ride with Barack Obama," New York gay rights activist Ethan Geto said. "He was terrific in the campaign, and he said he would get a lot of things done in the first year. When that didn't happen, people understandably were disappointed."

I’ll give people who supported him in 2008 the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they were just stupid or foolish. Anybody who still supports him is downright evil. They want to destroy whatever is good, decent, moral, productive.

In 2008 he got the $ from the islamists $50 at a time from overseas. It will happen again.

Nobody with a brain in this country will give him a nickel.

Yea, something like 4 million more people were employed. Gas was just under two bucks, we weren’t in a third war (one that had nothing to do with our interests) and we had about 4 trillion less in debt.

From your post, erod:

New York gay rights activist Ethan Geto said. “He was terrific in the campaign, and he said he would get a lot of things done in the first year. When that didn’t happen, people understandably were disappointed.”

However, like conservatives with some RINO politicians...what is the option? “Lesser of 2 evils” thinking kicks in and they vote for their guy. The gays will go for Obama. However, we can surely hope that their turnout will be diminished by their disappointment.

Anybody who still supports him is downright evil.

You have put your finger on the bigger problem.

Someday, sooner or later, one way or another, Obama will leave the White House.

But the leftist numbskulls who elected him will still be out there waiting for another socialist messiah.

And they will still be voting, reproducing and brainwashing the next generation with their foolish socialist claptrap.

Right on - 2012 is where the stupid get sorted out from the evil. Sadly, that doesn’t give me a warm, fuzzy feeling looking ahead...

Remember 2008? How could I forget? Worst year of my life. Started when I woke up one morning with multiple bilateral temporal skull fractures followed by an ambulance ride and a very expensive hospital stay, then the girl married the other guy, then the massive crash in stock and credit markets wiped out my investments and killed my real estate business, then I had to put my best boy springer spaniel down due to prostate cancer...and finally loser McLame gets nominated and loses to obama. Worst year of my life! I wish I could forget the entire year and that asshole wants me to remember it.
