Greek authorities on Saturday arrested the captain of the U.S. ship the "Audacity of Hope" that intended to take part in the Gaza Flotilla aimed at breaking Israel's legal blockade of Gaza, repors CNN. The ship was prevented from sailing on Friday.
The captain is being held by the police and will be brought before a judge on Tuesday. The Greek Coast Guard claims he will be accused of attempting to leave the port without proper permits and endangering the lives of the boat's passengers.
The Turkish daily "Hurryat" reported that inspection of the technical problem on the Irish boat that was supposed to embark from Turkey to Gaza showed that the source of the problem was not intentional sabotage. The organizers of the flotilla had accused Israel of causing the technical failure.
Israel's Foreign Ministry reacted with sarcasm to the accusation. "Israel is not a James Bond movie," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor. "To accuse Israel without any evidence, investigation or inspection by law enforcement agencies is ridiculous and unworthy. If the organizers suspected intentional sabotage, why didn't they turn to the police? What do they have to hide?"

I really think that BO had a SEAL team or American operators of some type sab the boat and intervined directly with Greek Politicos. Think about it. His ‘catch phrase’ was getting too much public attention and the tide, no pun intended, is turning against these idiots.
He did NOT want the association if Israel found anything on those boats or were attacked by rabid leftist/muslim terrorists after Benji announced they were not backing down.
PR nightmare.

I disagree. I think that these idiots needed some boats, and some Captain(s) chartered out two of the unsafest and broke down boats they could find.

My Greek is a bit rusty but it sounds like for what they spent on this flotilla they could have bought Greece and given it to the Palestinians.
It figures he couldn’t resist trying to hit back after he was publicly schooled by Netanyahu a few weeks ago upon Bibi’s visit to Washington, D.C.
That is a very real possibility. Like the saying goes - Never attribute to malice what can be explained by simple stupidity.
No don’t blow it up! The mad mohamadens & the assorted camp followers will claim it was an act of war/terror, instead just have a grease fire in the galley that literally burns that garbage scow to the water line ,Israeli navy then performs search & rescue ops with film crews on hand to show that the Isreaeli navy will even save a half drown rat.
