(Washington, DC) -- Republican congressional leaders are reportedly agreeing to billions of dollars in revenue increases as federal deficit discussions continue.

Republican Senator Jon Kyl announced the move today saying revenue increases don't necessarily mean tax hikes.

On the Senate floor Kyl said, quote, "If the government sells something and gets revenue from it, that's revenue."

He also suggested user fees for government services could provide additional revenue.

He says all the revenue increases Republicans have agreed to amount to between 150 billion and 200 billion dollars.

A-Holes. Nothing less. No better than the other side of the aisle. Twist and turn and manipulate words and think we are so stupid we don’t notice.

Pure evil.

You, on the other hand, sound like pissant.

I don't vote for people based on their sex, their race, their religion, etc.

I vote for people based on their values and beliefs, their record, and, of course, their eligibility for office.

Any conservative crying that the U.S. needs a woman in The White House merely because she is a woman is just as much an idiot as any liberal crying that the U.S. needs a black man in The White House.

If that makes me sound like pissant, then so be it.

National Parks have user fees. You’re not amenable to raising those fees, provided we aren’t smart enough to hand the parks down to the states or eliminate them? After all, raising the fees to keep up w/inflation, in return for ELIMINATING taxpayer funding of the parks, sounds mighty pleasing to me.

“Well, if they agree to sell off a few huge tracts of federal land to US private interests that would be ok. Like coal, oil and gas bearing properties.”

Sell the Federal Land in the west, ALL OF IT! It don’t much matter to whom, as long as the Federal Government don’t own it, the people of the Western States will have more control over their own State and fate. (The land and all adjacent areas will be under their control again.)

Bears repeating.

However, we do seem to have a great pair of women interested in the position

“So the government shouldn’t sell off any of its holdings?”

Not unless they demonstrate they will use the money wisely. As it stands this is probably more on par with a cocaine addict hocking the family silverware to get a quick fix.

The last thing the fedgov needs is more revenue. Congress needs to first demonstrate that it can create a budget and live with that before it just willy nilly gets any more money.

I swear, if they had an extra $100, there would be 535 of them scheming to spend $200 each. They need to go cold turkey.

The fact that you ignored my previous post, where I linked the wish to vote for Palin to her past record, is what makes you sound like pissant.

Trolls tend not to respond to the substance of their disputants; your behaviour on this thread is a case in point.

Cheers!

“See how government always grows? No matter what, it grows until it dies, like a shark.”

Not unlike fiat currency, it needs debt to grow and grow and grow, to stay alive.

Government and fiat money, destined to die.

The parks need to be self-sufficient, ideally that should not be hard cause wild land should require zero maintenance. But in practice we have to secure the land from poachers, harvesters, and homesteaders. That means the larger the track of land the more men and/or equipment is needed to secure the land.

This is certainly do able by most every State Government, but the question at hand is how much of theses costs can be recouped by visitor fees for any given park?

While clearly all the Federal parks must be handed off to their host State(who can then do with them whatever they want). I would be interested in hearing from some of the smaller States like Wyoming in how they plan to secure their disproportionally large parks.

I beleive they can solve the problem as No state should spend a dime of their Tax payer money on the maintenance of any State park.

The democrats are playing this deficit ceiling fight perfectly. They are strengthening their liberal base while getting their opponents base ticked off at them.

The GOP IS the stupid party. They are being played like a fiddle. AGAIN.

"If that makes me sound like pissant, then so be it."

At least you don't sound like a government-dependent, Democrat socialist playing both sides and determined to further fatten porcine offices of hysterical sex-bending social experiments (e.g., public education) with campaigns of incontinent, piscine, fallacious exclamations. Come to think of it, though, neither did pissant. He just had a bad hair day. ;-)

Bump to that.

I also find laughable the theory that a Hillary vote = a puma vote = a Palin vote = a Bachmann vote. If people can't see a huge difference in each, they should have their voting rights revoked.

Let’s see the lands to our own people..at least offer first...again..until we know what they are talking about we really don’t know what’s entailed in this....

But I sure wish they’d quite confusing the issue...call them taxes when they are just that.

I received an e-mail within the last 24 hours calling itself a “National Tea Party Alert” noting after effusive praise of him as a great conservative and leader that Ronald Reagan supported tax increases as president in his dealings with Democrats.

The GOP propaganda machine is already out there to spin the concessions to Obama.

The unstated point in all of this is that even if the Republicans raise fees, or taxes, or assessments, or whatever you want to call them, look at the small amount of money involved in comparison to the shortfall we are facing? This is arguments of peanuts!

When we need to close the gap of trillions, a few billion is chump change...from where will the remainder come?

Some spending reductions...but mostly printing more money and inflating it.

Under the circumstances, a pox on both of their houses.

To those who say a third party will elect a democrat, I ask, what is the difference?

The difference is that we increase the size of government at different rates, depending on who is elected. Both parties are willing to take away our civil liberties. No one can live unmolested without interference from the government. It is a continuous pressure to squeeze the life out of the population to the enrichment of those in power.

I will take my solace from the love of the people around me, as they are the only things that matter in the end.
