EPA finalizes stricter air pollution rules for Wisconsin, other states
Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal ^ | 7/7/11 | Lee Bergquist and Thomas Content

Posted on 07/07/2011 6:36:17 PM PDT by Jean S

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday finalized stronger regulations for Wisconsin and 26 other states aimed at curbing air pollution from long-distance sources.

The rules will help those states fight ozone and particle pollution caused by power plants in Illinois, Indiana and other states.

But Wisconsin utilities - whose pollution can contribute to air-quality problems elsewhere - will also need to find ways to reduce their own emissions.

The likely result: Higher electric bills in the coming years.

A group of power companies known as the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity called the action one of the most costly crackdowns on coal ever.

Nationwide, the EPA estimated utilities will spend $1.2 billion next year and $800 million in 2014 to comply with the rule.

And nation wide, consumers can expect their electric bills to increase at least 1.2 billion next year and $800 million in 2014. Fixed it for them.

God is in control.

Note Apostle Paul’s words in Romans 13: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

“I’m curious how many FReepers filed a formal comment against this rule during the comment period.”

That always does a lot of good.

No, not the biggest landslide...if she did that she’d lose Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii 90-10.

The Founders would be shocked at how much control the Feds have over everyone AND how much power Congress has lost to the Executive branch.

Well, either God isn’t doing his job, or he is royally p*ssed at us. The fact that we had to choose between Obama and McCain tells me it’s the latter.

It’s a chicken and the egg deal. Are socialists more likely to live in a city, or does living in a city make one more likely to be socialist? My guess is that it’s a combination of the two. It took Rudy’s almost fascist approach to turn NYC around.

America’s air quality is fantastic. Industry and automobiles pollute much less than before. Truck put up less particulate. Fire every single commie at EPA. Put them out on the street to look for real work. Bulldoze every last EPA building.

EPA is one of the most anti-American Federal agencies. These eco-saboteurs could care less how many American jobs they destroy and how much they push up electric bills. All they care about are their fat Federale paychecks

Scott Walker ought to tell the EPA to book a trip in a Prius to Hades.

Perhaps you could have someone read over your comments prior to submission? I’ve had a rather good success rate at getting changes made to proposed rules.

Obviously, this doesn’t mean that they can ignore the law they’re implementing, nor that they will totally fold, but remember that even if the comment suggestion isn’t incorporated, they’re forced to address it and it’s on the record.

You need to stop screeching irrational crap and look at reality. CONGRESS passes these laws not the EPA. CONGRESS is elected by the American people. The American people WANTED the EPA and it is probably the most popular government agency. It is not going to be disbanded unless the American people begin to deal with realities and it almost never has.

Until these FACTS are faced nothing will be done about the environmentalists NOTHING.
