Gunman chased by police runs through glass door, dies

A gun-toting man running from police died after he suffered multiple cuts running through a glass door, authorities said this morning.

Officers saw the man firing a gun in the air just before 8:30 p.m. in a vacant lot in the the 6200 block of South Vernon Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him this morning as Jonrynn Avery, 24, of the same block.

My prediction: The perp’s family will sue the owner of the glass door, the person who installed the glass door and the manufacturer of the glass door, for failing to install and maintain a conspicuous warning label listing the dangers associated with running through glass doors.

The family will ultimately settle out-of-court for a high-six/low-seven figure. Heh, heh. Ya beat me to it! However, don't forget they'll also sue the movie industry for making it look so easy...

I saw a girl run through a glass door (that she thought was open) at a pool party back in the early 70s. She must have had a hundred cuts, fortunately no major bleeding.
