The dismembered body of a missing 9-year-old Hasidic boy was found at two locations in Brooklyn and police this morning arrested a suspect in the slaying -- who had the child's severed feet in his freezer, sources told The Post.

I might have watched too many crime shows but I find it hard to believe that this boy was his first victim.
They should check his dna in the Long Island murders.
I understand that, although, of course, there are Hasidic communities in Israel.
Your post also talked about inbreeding and generally nasty behavior on the part of Hasidics during rallies. My post was only to say that there are plenty of decent Hasidics. I was a goyishe girl working among them and they were fascinating and wonderful to me.
By the way, for anyone who wants to know about the community, I recommend the lovely movie “The Chosen” with a superlative performance by Rod Steiger. It’s subplot has to do with the refusal of Hasidics to support the state of Israel and a reform Jew (played by Maximilian Schell) who is fighting for its birthright.
Same here. When I read he had done this in 30 minutes, I thought he had practice.

I have not seen the movie but have read the book and highly recommend it.
He supposedly lives in the same house as his parents in a different apt. The police may be trying to protect his parents at this point. Of course close knit community you can bet the people living there know exactly who his family is.
A movie or a documentary?
Sigh. A movie based on Bernard Malamud’s classic novel “The Chosen.” If I write that a movie stars Rod Steiger, why would you think it was a documentary?

Because movies are fake, that’s why I asked.
I love the book! Brings back all my childhood memories of Brooklyn and baseball and all the ethnic groups who lived peaceably together.
I really do recommend the movie. Very close to the novel.

The name, race, and other details of the suspect had been a white male.
So?...I am suspecting that this horrific act was perpetrated by a black Muslim. ( My best guess).
Poor, poor, boy! This is terrible for him and his family.
Sigh again. Another conservative who knows nothing about film as an art or as a truthteller.

If the man was an Orthodox Jew the article would definitely have plainly stated that. This statement above is likely a red herring.
