‘Fast and Furious’ not a ‘renegade operation,’ sources say
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 14 July, 2011 | Dave Workman

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ botched Operation Fast and Furious was not a “renegade operation” but a coordinated effort “from the top down,” congressional sources and ATF insiders told the Seattle Gun Rights Examiner today.

The suggestion surfaced in National Law Enforcement Examiner Jim Kouri’s column, quoting an unnamed New Jersey police commander who referred to the controversial gun trafficking sting as a “renegade operation.”

One police commander in New Jersey told Law Enforcement Examiner, "We need to get to the bottom of this renegade operation fast. I am furious that our government actually contributed to the killing of two American law enforcement officers -- one in the U.S., the other in Mexico." - Jim Kouri

According to sources close to the on-going investigations conducted by Senator Charles Grassley and Congressman Darrell Issa, every piece of evidence unearthed so far reinforces the belief that this was a “coordinated effort” that involved individuals high up in the Obama administration. That's why Grassley and Issa want e-mails and other materials involving a dozen current and former Justice Department officials, as this column reported.

“They knew what they were doing,” said one Grassley staffer to this column Thursday. “When we started looking into this in January, little did we know when we started what this would lead to. At first, it was too unbelievable to believe, but when you start looking into things…”

Early in the process, some ATF insiders expressed concerns that the people responsible would never be held accountable, and that someone would be “thrown under the bus.” That apparently almost happened to Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson, but he turned the tables on that by appearing secretly with his own attorney at a meeting with congressional investigators on July 4,

Beth Levine, spokeswoman for Senator Grassley, noted via telephone this morning that the investigation is nowhere near the proverbial “bottom of this.” Grassley and Issa, with their concurrent investigations, are determined to get there.

Seems to me that it was working exactly as it was supposed to work. The getting caught part was the thing they didn’t expect.

..is not a “renegade operation”?....jeeezzzz, my guess is Odumbo knew all about it and signed off on it. Being it was an international operation, I’m glad he took the responsibility and showed he could lead where it counted.

??????

*my eye’s are tearing, and my head erts*

......surely this is a huge feather in his political cap, and I hope it doesn’t interfere with that little plastic spinner.

Gunwalker equals Watergate times Irancontra, and the MSM is desperately averting their gaze to protect The One.

Nailed it.

Without the internet, this would have been spiked. I wonder how many scandals involving "progressives" have been spiked over the decades of the MSM mediacracy. I have a personal friend who had a career as a journalist, but quit after he saw too many cases where where conservatives were hounded for any small infraction, but stories involving "progressives" were routinely spiked.

He had worked his way up to a major market (Minneapolis), but couldn't function in the environment of the MSM.

Conservative reporters today either made it outside of the MSM, or were liberal, then converted to conservative after they made it high enough to have some protection.

I disagree with the title of this article. It was, indeed, a 'renegade operation'. It's just that the renegades included the President and his staff.

Definition of renegade:

traitor: somebody who abandons previously held beliefs or loyalties
rebel: somebody who chooses to live outside laws or conventions

For anyone else this would be IMPEACHABLE, but not for our Hybrid, Teflon, illegitimate ,Resident.

The Democrats are so in the tank for this buffoon that nothing he does sems to matter to them. They would watch the country destroyed to protect him.

Reid, Pelosi, Hoyer, McCain,(Yes I know McCain calls himself a Republican) are all a part and parcel of the illegal acts performed by Obama.

What is also interesting is the confidence that Obama has placed in the media on this.

Let’s say the plan went forward and the administration was showing numbers of US weapons traced to Mexico.

Dealers who were forced to sell firearms would be screaming about the setup.

Obama knows that the MSM would ignore the claims made by those dealers and actually paint them as “part of the problem”.

The test run for this was conducted in 2010 by the Washington Post who ran numerous stories about specific dealers who had the highest number of criminally used firearms traced back to their store.

The Washington Post story was based on information given to them by the BATFE.

The dealers were all cleared as they were cooperating with the BATFE. The Washington Post gave less than one paragraph to the dealers’ clearance....but their names were smeared.

This was the template for Fast & Furious.

Gunwalker is more like the Gleiwitz incident or the Reichstag fire.

By “botched” they must mean ‘caught in the act.’
