When the clock struck 12:01 am today, AMC theaters in select cities were permitted to start showing "The Undefeated," a feature length documentary about Sarah Palin. As it happens, I'm visiting my parents in Orange County, Calif., home to one of just 10 theaters where the film is being rolled out. Watching it didn't interest me so much as going to interview folks who decided to attend. I figured I'd meet some nice people, perhaps run into someone who knows my grandparents, press five or six Palin fans on why they like her, and convey their worldview. It's my experience that the grassroots doesn't fit the caricature of its champions or its detractors.
SNIP
As I approached, however, I realized that most people present were dressed in costume. The crowd was either showing ironic solidarity with Christine O'Donnell, the tea party candidate who is not a witch, or else everyone was there to see the Harry Potter movie playing on a majority of the theater's 30 screens. Without any way of telling Palin moviegoers from Potter fans dressed up like muggles, I'd have to pay, go to the assigned theater, and look for interviewees.
I hurried through the teenage hordes, bypassed a concession stand that sold 1,020 calories of soda for $5.25, and entered theater number 30, hoping I'd have ample time before the previews to talk to some people. But inside, the theater was empty. I sat there alone for 20 minutes, at which point an usher stuck his head in the door, gave me a quizzical smile, and said, "How come you're not watching Harry Potter?" Then he left me by myself again, and without any good answer.

Additionally, the theater was showing advertisements superimposed over the first few minutes of the film. Very distracting. Three of us went to management to get this corrected. Bet this does not happen in the Harry Potter opening.
However, it is great movie, and it definitely shows why Sarah is, by far, the best choice for America. I truly believe Sarah has been chosen to lead the USA back to its rightful place as the only truly exceptional nation on the planet.
If you have a chance, go see the movie - you will not regret it.
This is California, who’s surprised...

We just got back from the movie.
Considering that it was an early afternoon weekday showing when most people are working, the crowd was fairly good sized - maybe 1/3 full.
There will be more people at the later showings today and the Saturday and Sunday showings.
During the final act of the movie the audience applauded several times.
I’ll try to make it to the 9:00pm party if I don’t fall asleep - which I usually do by that time on Fridays. :)
If you are going to show this Movie in California, you MUST have the audio in SPAINISH. Hispanics are about the only ones left in California.
Now what's a person who allegedly has acute PDS doing buying not one but two tickets for The Undefeated?
ROTFL
Theres been a lot of news today about the phony narrative started by a Conor Friedersdorf at The Atlantic regarding the opening of The Undefeated in Orange County. John Nolte covered this sham over at Big Hollywood, he writes:
One writer. One article. One screening. Apparently, what we used to consider anecdotal now equals news. And as a result you have a genuine media narrative being brewed with headlines intentionally written to create the perception that the The Undefeated is DOA in the Republican stronghold of Orange Country, no less.Dan Riehl also quite bluntly covered this story, noting that the theater didnt advertise the 12:45 AM showing. In fact, Conor Friedersdorf seems to be the only person on the planet who knew about it.Translation: Its over, Palinistas! Please form a single-file line to the right where all your hopes and dreams will be stripped and burned.
Except
If you read the fine printThe Atlantic writer is reporting on his experience at a midnight screening on a Thursday night.
No.
Really.Read the story again and youll see that the emptiness of a midnight screening on a work night is not only worthy of 950+ words and a wildly misleading headline, but also all these subsequent MSM stories filled with similar headlines. And you can bet there will be more stories to come. This is how the corrupt MSM works. This is how they create phony narratives out of nothingness in order to attack and undermine their ideological enemies.
Correct. This way, the media can put out the movie was a flop and the American voter will never do any independent investigating about what the real box office was for this film.
We’ve got to get the real word out ourselves.
Why did this theatre do a midnight showing? Maybe the other times were sold out and the manager added another showing? Maybe the manager had an agenda and wanted to try to discredit Palin by showing the movie at an impossible time. What’s the rest of the story?
My brother went to a 4pm showing at the same theatre and he said the theater was full at that hour. Let’s wait and see what happens when people get off work.
and...? Did the concession sell kool aide? LOL
