Police: boy died from horrific abuse

Police released horrific new details Friday on how they believe three-year-old Jaquinn Brewton died, and they say it was no accident.

Police now say the child was murdered through long-term physical abuse allegedly at the hands of his godmother, 22-year-old Nadera Batson and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Marcus King. They believe King, a 6' 8", 225-pound man, kicked and punched the little boy over a period of time.

Police believe the couple used a blowtorch to burn the little boy on various parts of his body.

“”And yet, if they have some posed Christmas photos with the boy, the jury foreman will describe them as “loving parents” after their acquittal.””

You must be as much a fan of Geraldo as I and many others here. He would call them “devoted and loving” from pictures alone!!

I have a 2 1/2 year old grandson. If I lost him in this manner I would gladly settle the matter in person. I’m 75 years old - what would I have to lose?

“”””Jaquinn was left with the family friend.
Ashley Brewton says she tried to visit her son several times over the past few months, but was denied access to them. She and other relatives wonder if they could’ve done more to save the little boy.””””

Good grief! Where are people’s heads? What takes up so much of their time in a day that they couldn’t make regular visits to see what was going on with this little one? Couldn’t get access!! BULL!

Where were the neighbors? Nothing like that can happen without a child screaming in pain and for help!!!

This is infuriating! We need a law in this country that ALL MURDERERS of children will suffer the same punishment they inflicted on the most vulnerable of our population. Apply the very same method!! No prison time whatsoever.

And the story says the mother has six other children. All being supported by the County, I’m sure. The liberal “culture” at work.

And the liberal "culture" is shocked to see/hear the results of it's "good" deeds. Meet my new boyfriend JaQuinn, you can call him "Blowtorch".

Hopefully the outcome of a trial will be better than the joke trial in Florida.

Why does God allow such evil and pain to befall one of his little lambs?

If you have that kind of power, when do you stop? The alternative to giving free will free reign is that we all become robots -- or slaves. God isn't interested in either of those things.

Those of us who are parents would never deny to our children any wish that was within our power to give -- provided only that it would not harm them; so The Father does not forbid these evil things because the alternative would harm us more.

The way our society carries it out is far too sterile and humane for monsters such as these.

I only regret that we cannot kill these two as slowly, or as many times, as they deserve.

Geraldo is a complete fool. I've never understood why Fox decided to give him a lifeline. If his vacuous tabloid phase in syndication wasn't bad enough, they should have let his career suffer the fate it deserved for his many inane comments during the Clinton impeachment hearings while he was on MSNBC. He claimed to have undergone a transformation after 9/11, but sadly -- as was the case with a lot of the rest of the country -- it's worn off. Time he was cashiered.

I have to wonder what kind of a parent he is, and what kind of parents the people on that jury were, and what kinds of grandparents the Anthony's were: as I told my own kids: the first time you turn around and find your two year old has wandered off in the department store or the amusement park, after literally turning your head for no more than five seconds, there is a fear that shoots through your body from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head. There is no fear you ever experience in your life that's like that fear: pure unrelenting horror until the moment your child is in your arms again, and how her parents could possibly believe something was not wrong with that going on for a month, how they could not do anything themselves during that time I will never understand.

Me -- I would accept the story that my daughter (or son) was trying to do everything she could for maybe one day. My wife, twelve hours, tops.

Momma’s boyfriend - the leading cause of death among American children.

The most horrid part is the fact they pick boyfriend over kids. I don't mean mixed up teen mothers I mean mid 20's too late thirties. The courts also in most abuse and severe negligence cases give the poor kids back to the mother after several years of foster care.

In the current system even family intervention as in taking the kids out of the home and adopting the kids is now for the most part impossible. If you go against such a mother {legally} to protect the kids the courts will rip you apart worse than the abusers.

I hate to be a cynic but unless there is a cute little while girl involved you are not likely to hear much about such cases.

With the press, at best, it is usually all about selling soap. Justice of any kind is waaay back in the pack.

I want Old Testament justice.

"Vengeance is mine.", saith the Lord.

He'll git 'er done, and there won't be any mistakes one way or the other.

"There is no fear you ever experience in your life that's like that fear: pure unrelenting horror until the moment your child is in your arms again..."

Aint that the truth! All of a sudden you have but one single purpose in life,to get that child back by any means and God help anyone who gets in the way.

How someome could blow torch a child and listen to his cries is beyond human.Without natural affection.

Actually, the jury did what the jury is supposed to do--they ruled on the facts they had and whether First Degree Murder had been committed by the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt.

Imho, the prosecution did not deliver facts to them that could have them rule any other way than the way they did on the charge.

With malice and forethought is the standard for Murder One, and it is entirely credible that the child's demise was the unfortunate result of her mother's neglect, not a murder conducted with malice and forethought just so she could party.

Dear God, every day thousands, if not more, lousy mothers dump their kids somewhere so they can party--sometimes disappearing for days, and the kids are alive when they are dropped off.

So here is a credible alternative: Kid is left in ahot sealed vehicle in a carseat and dies of heat prostration while mommy is partying. There is an attempt to make a credible coverup of the neglect by making it look like an abduction. Research is done, the body prepped, and the body sits for a few days before being dumped. Found much later, there just isn't the physical evidence to determine cause of death, and not that it was murder.

People do stupid stuff in a panic, even more stupid than the stuff that got them to that point.

Have a reasonable doubt, the jury did--and that is just one possible scenario. I have little doubt that the mother's actions, directly or indirectly, led to the child's demise, but that doesn't fill the criteria for the charges brought. I think that is why some jurors are supposedly feeling conflicted, too.

If the prosecution had opted for a lesser charge, there is a good chance they'd have made it stick and the jury would have come back with a guilty verdict.

Sometimes the correct verdict doesn't fit what actually transpired, and that is a weakness of our justice system. It is not what happened, but what can be proven that counts.

In the meantime, the media continue to flog the case, as if there isn't anything else going on.

To do that, they have to ignore the developing 'Gunwalker', "Operation Fast and Furious" investigation, "Operation Castaway", and God only knows whatever else the BATFE and DOJ have been up to, something that promises (if the story gets traction) to be as much of or more than a scandal as Watergate, but with plenty of dead bodies, including American LEOs.

The pattern is established, the OJ trial provided the Media smokescreen for the Congressional investigations of Waco and Ruby Ridge--only the physical evidence tied OJ to a definite murder.

Yes, it is sad the child is dead, and I have little doubt the principals in the case, including the recently acquitted, know far more than they are telling, but the BATFE operations have racked up multiples in body count, and the final tally won't be in for a while.

The actual reasons for the operations may be even more heinous than the operations themselves.

All over the press? Barely a peep on the way to the commercials...

YMMV

I can say based on my experiences that Tennessee is among one of the worst states for Mommy can do no wrong and must have the kids returned policies. I've seen for myself how hostile the system can get with those who dare question policy.

Unfortunately a couple of kids dear too my heart got put in the system. I say this to any person considering or asked too take in your kin's abused children. Lawyer up because Mommy's lawyer will be coming after you. If you don't let her run roughshod over you and the kids. DCS or CPS depending on state will be Mommy's enabler as likely a liberal activist judge. Children Protection Services or Department of Children's Services etc is nothing about the kids well being and has become a liberal ran agency with a liberal agenda.

When reading a Tennessee Foster Parent Handbook and attending mandatory Parenting Classes their propaganda would make any parent with common sense want to hurl.

Those links all say “more mothers than fathers,” while we’re discussing sex partners of mothers who are *not* the fathers of the children. Of course, considering abortion, that puts mothers killing more children than anyone else.

These stats are not easy to get.

I just spent an hour looking on boyfriend stats and found very little about how boyfriends killing stacks up though yes it would appear high

I found a Slate article back from 2002 on the Yates killing where they claim of children murdered each year that 57% are killed by either parent

and 30% killed by a non related male in the home...the rest strangers, distant relatives, friends or other kids etc

and stats also show that from 1976-2010 that mothers were 2-1 more likely to kill their kids...but from 1976-1996 they were only slightly more likely...what caused that change?...maybe crack and more illegitimacy?

It would appear that with recent stats that moms and non related males in the home are in a statistical dead heat with dad way back of the pack now

but no worries for social engineers...conventional wisdom will blame man anyhow as in Yate’s husband or George Anthony

This is one of those stat studies smart folks don't ask for grants on because it's outside the template

sorta like in anthropology...anything outside the template of denigrating western culture is not likely to get funded

sad....will it ever change...I for one miss the old values
