Side note - two Repub’s this morning, John Kyl, and the TP candidate from ID, both kept using “air quotes” or “finger quotes” anytime they referred to something obama said. It was interesting that they both did this, and only when quoting something obama said. It was funny, because it was used to ridicule obama. It was likely a coincidence, but I wish they would all do it. obama no likely the ridicule.

The Republicans' first mistake is to include Obama in any talks. He is still the coolest kid in junior high and his friends got him elected class president. That does not make him qualified to make adult decisions about adult problems.

Better to let Obama go off to the golf courses and eat his peas in front of Michelle so she can make sure he's paying the price for marrying her. The Republicans have to deal with Nancy "Stool Sample" Pelosi and Harry "Cowboy Poetry" Reid in order to get a solution.

Even easier; propose and pass a budget in the House that calls for no new debt, which means no need to increase the ceiling. And remove all pensions for Senators, Reps and all staffers in Congress and the White House. If these people want to keep calling themselves "Public Servants", they can do their public service ad go home. The time to talk and look for a way to blame the other guy when failure happens is long past.

We are at a point where a solution to our spending problem will look like the riots in Greece. Better that than a meltdown like what happened to the Weimar Republic, or the incident at the top of the scale; The Tower of Babel.

I don't need to see John Boehner cry again to prove how much he cares. Do the right thing and go home, John.

Not only is there supposed to be a trust fund but they take 15% of our wages every month in SSI and another 7% in Medicare.

For 2010, the Social Security withholding was 6.2% for wages up to $106,800 in wages. The Medicare withholding was 1.45% with no limit on wages.

For 2011 only, the FICA (Social Security) percentage was lowered to 4.2%

Though not directly related, the employer pays the same amount as the employee.

About 60 million receive some type of SS benefits. No president or presidential wannabe is going to alienate The Gray Panthers. Social Security checks/deposits will go out on schedule.

Obama's bluff was to the Republicans, not to the seniors.

Good post, bray. Thanks!

Joseph Biden is correct. The Republican Party is no longer the same party Democrats have battled in the past. Now the Republicans seem to have grown a bit of a spine and they are not going to bow down to a party that would destroy America.

Groupon! The only reason Groupon works as a business model is that merchants (WHO ARE DESPERATE FOR BUSINESS) offer deep discounts on their merchandise for a guaranteed sale. Groupon sells the coupon and takes a small per cent.

Ask yourselves if merchants would be willing to do that if times were like they were in the 80’s? Or even during the Bush administration, 5 years ago?

The entire business model is based on desperate merchants and belt-tightening consumers. And that is the business the media thinks is swell.

What’s with the double Durbin today? Wonder what axe he’s grinding away at?

Fox looks the best. I want to see Herman Cain.

6.2% x 2=12.4% for 95% of the people should pay those SS checks.

How about they let those who don’t want SS out of the system? Imagine when they have your healthcare and he threatens to cut it off? Then you live under a dictator.

Pray for America

FOX NEWS SUNDAY: Panel

Juan Williams, stuck on stupid, “taxing the super rich”? It doesn’t actually effect the super rich.

The older fella needs to be shown a graph of tax revenue to the treasury increasing to record levels after the Bush tax cuts, but go easy, it’s sure to shatter his reality.

Ah, so the details begin to come out. The jury will conclude that Baraq Obama has no capacity for leadership whatsoever, and when confronted in his lies, his propensity for irrationality increases substantially.

For him, it's like being in third grade all over again.

Cantor: So what's your plan?
Obama: I already told you what my plan is.
Cantor: No, you have not.
Obama: Well, I'm not going to stand around and listen to this . . .

Meanwhile over on MTP,the chatting points are flowing like salt water.

Point budget man from the regime Jack Lew comes to bat loaded with chatting points with the main theme---zero is ready to compromise he has already put out his stuff to save the country after inheriting a terrible economy from the evil Bush man, its been rejected and now he is willing to do almost anything to keep from defaulting.

The only reason the regime is concerned about the debt ceiling is because it gets them 2.4/2.5 more trillion to play with/get reelected with. Nothing else would concern them I guarantee it.

Lew ignores how we go there, the late hour of debate and so many other variables it makes ones head spin. But DNC Dave is just there to move the left wing agenda along and he accomplished that once again.

Lew begins with saying all items are on the table--let Congress make a plan--once again the regime leads from behind with zero never ever saying anything that can be construed as a comment from him--it might come back to haunt him and all things are political, nothing else matters.

Zero wants the largest deal possible according to Lew--yeah, yeah yeah more bs.

Lew's take on the market/moody is US can't default,we need to get our fiscal house in order--they claim that zero proposed 4 trillion over 10-12 years only it included tax increases and probably no immediate cuts which is like saying we rob the rich immediately and never cut anything. More BS.

DNC Dave tries to head off our sides retorts on Monday by claiming that 53% don't want the debt ceiling raised--Lew has no answer.

Lew ends with claiming they inherited the bad economy from GW and that zero should be compared to Tip O'Neil/Reagan or newt/bubba--almost puke inducing.

The debate continues with little Dick Durbin and Jim Demint both little Dick and DNC Dave pile on Demint but he held up pretty good making a case for cut spending, Cap it for good to overall national spending(GNP) and then do a balanced budget amendment.

DNC Dave does not even give the plan the time of day since he knows the Senate won't pass it so it does not exist.

the socialist attitude is why talk about the right thing to do since we are not "forced" to do it.

Once again the rats are the children in the room.

The two far left socialists then demagogue our side more and more with tax cuts for the rich, etc., etc. really not worth time to read.

Sounds like Bad Chris was on today. Guess he didn’t notice Cain is black, which is a good thing. I’ll be glad when nobody notices that.

Sometimes he seems to feel he has to be tougher on conservatives to prove ... what? That Fox is fair and balanced? That he is?

Chaney was amazing, especially when she mentioned she was out in Wy and began quoting the Premiers press conferences. In three economic Q&As about solutions to this crisis did not mention the private sector once.
