VIDEO: RAMPANT MEDICAID FRAUD EXPOSED - PART 1
Project Veritas ^ | 7 18 2011 | James O'Keefe

Posted on 07/18/2011 10:03:08 AM PDT by tutstar

Washington, D.C.—James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas today released its latest undercover investigation. Citizen journalists have uncovered widespread Medicaid fraud in state offices across the country.

The first investigation released focuses on four Medicaid offices in Ohio. The undercover reporters intimate that they are drug dealers, drive expensive cars, and are not U.S citizens. At no time did the case workers ask the reporters to leave. Even though the reporters admit to making their living through drug dealing or facilitating child prostitution, the case workers never called the police, Child Protective Services or the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In fact, the case workers appear eager to assist the reporters in filling out the necessary Medicaid paperwork.

When one of the reporters inquires about Medicaid for his sick father, he asks that if it will be a problem if he sells the “herbal remedy,” the case worker replies: “Well, I mean, it doesn’t matter what kind of work he does.”

The video begins with a report from The Columbus Dispatch that says it costs Ohio $15.4 billion per year to run the Medicaid program—or $29,000 per minute.

“In this time of economic uncertainty, the American people deserve to know how their tax dollars are being wasted.” said James O’Keefe. “This is hardly an isolated incident. Government workers willing to aid people with criminal backgrounds and great wealth, should be an outrage to every America.

‘Medicare Loses Nearly Four Times as Much Money as Health Insurers Make’

In a newly released report, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimates that, in fiscal year 2010, $48 billion in taxpayer money was squandered on fraudulent or improper Medicare claims. Meanwhile, the nation’s ten largest health insurance companies made combined profits of $12.7 billion in 2010 (according to Fortune 500). In other words, for every $1 made by the nation’s ten largest insurers, Medicare lost nearly $4…
Actually, it may have been even worse than that: The GAO writes that this $48 billion in taxpayer money that went down the drain doesn’t even represent Medicare’s full tally of lost revenue, since it “did not include improper payments in its Part D prescription drug benefit, for which the agency has not yet estimated a total amount.”

and we wonder why we’re in a debt crisis.

This O’Keefe dude does great work. Not only is he a world class invesigative reporter, but he's a funny too.

Gotta love the get-ups he comes up with - "Sergei Ivanovich" - lol. The Russian pimp accent isn't even good, yet the medicaid .gov worker falls for it. The part where she tells him not to disclose the $800,000 car stands out. "You didn't hear that from me."

I'm still laughing at his pimp costume he used to punk Planned Barrenhood.

He makes them look like the jerks they are while he's nailing them to the wall.

I know! There is a lack of common sense and critical thinking these days!

What I suspect is another big problem is subsidized housing. Our neighbor of 17 yrs decided to rent out her home under section 8. Most of the townhomes in the area rent about 1000/mo for a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath. The tenant has 1 child, single parent and works part time at a fast food place!

ARGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!

I thought about it for a while. Why aren’t they putting them in lower rent places so the taxpayers are picking up such a big piece of the pie? My conclusion is that it’s part of the socialist model to make everyone more ‘equal’.

Flabbergasting!!!!!!!

It just makes you want to cry to see what they’re doing to the country. Friday, ZERO had the audacity to say the Republicans are running up the credit card when he has increased the debt sooooooooooo much in 2 1/2 years.

I used to WORK for Section 8 as a clerk in a major upstate NY city. I can tell you that this “social engineering” crap was going on then. Trying to move the dregs out into suburbia. I can tell you that if there wasn’t some work requirement for welfare, that girl would not even have a part time job.
