LONDON (AP) — Police say Sean Hoare, the whistleblower reporter who alleged widespread hacking at the News of the World, has been found dead.

Police said Hoare's death at his home in England was not considered to be suspicious, according to Britain's Press Association news agency.

Hoare was quoted by The New York Times as saying that phone-hacking was widely used and even encouraged at the News of the World tabloid under then-editor Andy Coulson.

The guy lost his job because of drink and drugs problems.

Could well be natural causes.

Honest, your honor, as soon as we finished giving him his obligatory hickory shampoo, he slipped and fell down the stairs at the precinct.

Could well be natural causes.

I think one should always have a little something on the longshot.

I guess there are a couple of lessons here. Being a drunk, a druggie and a stoolie is not conducive to a long life. The lesson for News Corp is, “Don’t fire the guy who knows where the bodies are buried.”

Politics is a blood sport, so many convenient “suicides” and “accidents.”

So not until yesterday do we find out that the ‘whistle blower’ who started this whole mess was an alcoholic/drug addicted disgruntled ex-employee making paranoiac charges into the opening arms of his former company’s biggest competitor.

Sounds to me like a ‘Hitler’s Diary’ leaked to Pinch Sulzberger.

If there is a shred of honesty left in journalism, methinks we will see egg on the faces of all concerned.
