Report: Obama top recipient of News Corp. donations

Political donations by News Corp., its employees and their families were evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, with President Obama the all-time leading recipient, according to a report from the Sunlight Foundation.

The transparency watchdog noted Tuesday that Democrats received 51 percent of contributions while Republicans received 49 percent, despite the firm's highly publicized links to the GOP, such as a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association in August.

I have relatives who live in London. They are Tories. They know that Americans went ga-ga over Blair because of his support in Desert Storm and his winsome oratorical appeal.

However, the reality was that Blair and the radical socialists and marxists in his government were leading their country's economic health down precisely the same destructive and perhaps fatal path as Obama is leading ours at the moment.

Murdoch's son and probable company heir is said to be even more to the socialist left than is Rupert.

You have been correct, LLS, about Fox News....and you have withstood attacks when consistently pointing out this network's inching to the darkside.

I, too, have been on the network's case for a long time, being this forum's premier exposer of the statist, socialist, Obama defender, FR-hater Bill O'Reilly, a truly evil Pied Piper with a disarming leprechaun smile.

He, in turn, is the Big Enchilada, who every night rules over a host of guests who kiss his ring....with only a few who stand up to his lies and misinformation.

He did a nasty, lying trip on the Tea Party and Ms. Bachmann the other night that made me want to throw an ashtray like Hillary did to Bill.

At any rate, it'll be interesting to see if the Murdoch scandal has an effect on programming and guests between now and the election. Will the network become even more liberal so that Obama won't order Holder to investigate U.S. Fox like Parliament is holding an investigation of the English counterpart?

Will the left-leaning Murdoch son take over running the network if the 80 year-old Rupert shuffles off this mortal coil....or steps down as a result of the scandal?

For those who didn't hit the link to read the entire article it's worth noting that "top recipients" from Murdoch's political action committee in the 2009-10 election cycle were the evil trio of Reps. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif), Howard Berman (D-Calif) and Sen. Chuck U. Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Reading the info posted in many of the above comments should correct any happy thoughts about Rupert Murdoch's political leanings....and arm you with facts next time someone raves about how "conservative" Fox is in this election cycle.

A poll at fox studios... taken after the election... found that 80% of those employees polled had voted for obama. Pretty clear to me that fox is just selling a slightly more conservative soap to people that find it hard to buy conservative soap anywhere else. They do not exist for conservatism... they exist to serve an under served market for profit... and they feel no allegiance to us at all.
