Conservative commentator Bill Bennett says that anyone looking for democracy, good government, business and job growth, the best medical care, a lower cost of living and taxes should look to Texas as the model and to Rick Perry as the model governor.

Incidentally, Bush traded heavily on his faith and prayer. Many Christians were blind sighted by that. Could Perry be using the expression of his faith for the same purposes?
Another similarity between Perry and the GWB!

No. Because he is open borders. Period. Funny how you totally contradict your screen name by DEFENDING a RINO....

Perry is PRO- illegal immigration...he everything he does is a result of the men that hang out in his pocket. Do a little research before you worship the guy please!!

"Last I heard Texas had balanced the budget with about six billion left in its "rainy day" fund."

You need to start fact-checking.

Texas "balanced" their current 2-year budget by accepting over 6 billion in federal stimulus relief funds last year, and delaying several billion in payouts by one day this year which just pushed it into the next budgetary cycle.

According to Perry, and the state legislature, the 2012-2013 budget is balanced. According to their state comptroller, they'll come up $20 billion short over the next two years. I think I'm more inclined to believe their comptroller when it comes to revenue estimates.

And they still have to pay back all the money they've borrowed over the past 10 years.

Perry is PRO- illegal immigration

Reagan granted amnesty to three million illegals. Was he a RINO or a conservative that was wrong a few issues?

And, can you give us a potential candidate you don't think is a RINO, one that is 100% perfect?

RINO is not defined as 80-90% conservative.

Oh my God. Nice Liberal talking point u got there. Reagan didn’t have the hindsight of that mistake either.....or I guarantee u he wouldn’t have done it, b/c unlike many, Reagan LEARNED from the mistakes of others.....and Reagan certainly wasn’t OPEN BORDERS.... and he has big business right in his pocket, THAT’S the reason he’s so soft on illegals. you comfortable w/that?

Texans are on the hook for more public debt per person than even California.

You have a link for that assertion? If so could you post it please.

Now, you’re just being silly. What a stupid question. You want me name someone who is 100% perfect. Well, the only perfect person I know is Jesus, and he’s not running.

U need a non-RINO CANDIDATE? Palin...

is she perfect to me? NOPE. But I agree w/her 95-98%... and that’s MUCH better than 80%. But Perry doesn’t GOVERN even 80% Repub....he TALKS AND CAMPAIGNS 80% Repub....he talks the talk but MAYBE half the time he actually walks it.

Bachmann isn’t a RINO either....but I agree w/her LESS than SP, so she’s not my choice. I always go with the one who most fits my values etc....and if they’re not on the ticket, I’ll write someone in...if possible

I'd put Perry closer to 90% than 80%.

But, yes, 80% than 95% if the 80% candidate is almost certain to win while the 95%, at best, has a 50-50% chance of winning.

I’m not voting for the person who has the best chance of beating Obama, according to the liberals, media, & RINO estab Repubs.....I’m voting for the BEST person for the job. There is NO indication that Perry will do any better than Palin against Obama....and actually, her record is a whole lot better than his.....

Thanks but your link doesn’t work. I’ve checked one of the debt clocks and it doesn’t verify what you’ve asserted, don’t know if it’s the same one you are using. That’s why I was wanting to see the link to the one that did verify your assertion.

You seem confused. None of those types are saying that about Perry. They are saying that about Romney.

The last candidate the media and Democrats want Obama to have to face is the candidate with a superior economic record and with more executive experience than he has.

There isn't?

Rasmussen has Perry within five points despite the fact Gallup indicates 45% of the country doesn't even know who Perry is.

Palin in the RCP average is 20 points behind Obama despite having nearly 100% name recognition:

That’s the same one I looked at. It has CA and many other states higher debt per citizen than TX . Maybe I didn’t understand your debt statement.

I just rechecked.

CA debt per citizen: $13,382
TX debt per citizen: $13,630

Not as bad as NY at $16,314, but still not great.

Nope. Just rechecked. Even tried in a different browser to make sure that wasn’t the issue. Maybe you’re seeing old numbers on a cached version of the page? Maybe try clearing your browser cache, then clicking on the links again.
