At least seven people were killed in a powerful bomb blast that ripped apart government buildings in Norway's capital. Shortly after the blast, a gunman opened fire at a youth camp outside Oslo. Police suspect the attacks are linked.
The bombing is the deadliest in Oslo since World War II. It tore open several buildings, including the prime minister's office. Prime Minister Yens Stoltenburg was not hurt.
U.S. government sources told ABC News there may have been multiple explosions and at least one of them was the result of a massive vehicle bomb. Windows were shattered at the 20-floor high-rise government headquarters building.
A Norwegian government official says there are people trapped in some of the buildings.
A senior U.S. diplomat in Oslo said they believe all personnel in the country are safe and accounted for.
Hours later, a gunman dressed in a police uniform opened fire at a political youth camp at Utoya, shooting several young people. Police Inspector Bjoern Erik Sem-Jacobsen said a suspect in the shooting has been arrested.
The camp is for young members, between the ages of 14 and 18, of the prime minister's Labor Party. Unconfirmed reports indicate five victims were hit by gunfire.
According to Norwegian TV, an unknown group called Helpers of the Global Jihad posted a message that said this was only the beginning.
The attack comes as Norway grapples with a homegrown terror plot linked to al Qaeda. Last week, a Norwegian prosecutor filed terror charges against an Iraqi-born cleric for threatening Norwegian politicians with death. It is unknown if it's connected with this attack.

First, the death of the kids is bad. The attack on the government is less bad as Western governments are generally foul. However, if such attacks turn out to be an Islamic attack, and this helps end “Diversity” in the West, then those killed shall not have died in vain.
Oh I wish you were correct Noumenon, but what do you do when Europe is rapidly becoming democratically Islamic? I.E. the Muslim minority is quickly becoming the Muslim Majority because of birth rates...

All I can offer in response is that Europeans have never let a little thing like democracy get in the way of what they perceived as necessity. I offer the history of the last century as testimony. Taken in full context, war was the least of it.
