ESCONDIDO A 25-year-old man with an extensive criminal history who has been repeatedly deported was detained this week in Escondido, police said Thursday.
Jose Vigil Carbajal, 25, was stopped Monday by Escondido police officers for a vehicle-code violation, said police Lt. Craig Carter. He was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement officials and was scheduled to again be removed from the country. According to ICE, he has been deported 15 times.
Jose Vigil Carbajal Carbajals criminal record includes four arrests for driving under the influence, one arrest for hit-and-run and two arrests for driving with a suspended license.
It was the third time that Escondido police have detained Carbajal, Carter said. The first was last November, also for a vehicle-code violation. The second was May 11 for disturbing the peace while attending a party.
In each case, Carbajal was deported after being turned over to ICE officials under a program called Operation Joint Effort. The program, launched in May 2010, partners Escondido police with federal immigration-enforcement officers in an effort to help identify and arrest criminal illegal immigrants.

After ten times, they should be executed. Maybe five times.
Let's be honest, he's going to kill someone. It's only a matter of time.
The insanity continues. No borders, and no consequences, unless you are black or white, and an American citizen.
BLAME NOBODY ELSE BUT THIS CORRUPT GOVERNMENT. This nation is a passing venue.
Cut his Achilles tendons. Lets see him walk back after that.
They are like cockroaches, they keep coming back unless sprayed.
shoot him
I wonder what it costs to deport a person 15 times..?
$50,000....?
I say we enact laws putting these people on WORK CAMPS —for YEARs.
Hey, they make huge deals out of how hard-working they are, right?
Let them make furniture, stamp license-plates, or break rocks in the hot sun....
Sherrif Joe would agree.
Before you deport him next time, break his legs.
As I see it, we have two choices. We can jail him for “life plus 25 years” or just shoot the SOB while “trying to escape”. The latter might be preferable as he’s repeatedly demonstrated a contempt for out laws.
BTW, whe wouldn’t get that many “breaks” in his home country ! >PS
Cockroaches spayed?
Oh, you said sprayed.
Yes, that’s the correct term SPAY the Bastard!!! If he gets the chance, he will reproduce and that’s a very bad thing!
Just another undocumented Obama voter; just remember what the North County San Diego Democrats tell their Hispanic cadres ... “you don’t need papers to vote.”
They should do like the wildlife biologists do with problem animals, take him farther away each time. This time should be Afghanistan. If he returns, then Antarctica.
I see nothing wrong with having him tried and sentenced just like an American would be for repeated drunk driving. In FL they go away for a couple of years for that.
Then deport him.
I'd settle for one execution.
I think that if someone is deported, there needs to be an immediate way to see that they’ve been deported.
For instance, tattooing “Deported” across their foreheads in big, block letters. Then there would be no need for any sort of “profiling” to ensure they get sent back again.

You know, I could swear I read that re-entry is supposed to be a felony.
So fourteen felonies and no time served.
Our immigration laws are not just weak, they are not being seriously enforced.
This guy needs a few years at club Fed., maybe then he would take us seriously.
