Actually the Islamists are being smart by not doing further attacks, as time goes on, those who rail against the Islamic threat, are painted as the dangerous ones. It's not fear, it's objective. The guy had political motives, so he attacked the politicians where he felt he could hurt them the most. Shooting up a mosque will kill individual Muslims, but it won't affect any political change. In fact, it might spur sympathy and bring the opposite.

The shooter's logic ... seems to be to attack the cause (liberal decision makers in the government) not the effect (increased Muslim immigration and multi-culturalism).
