While it is true that Christianity and Islam have largely switched places in modern times in how they treat Jews - just a casual perusal of Jewish history will support what I stated, and contradict your "not at all" (which seems to want to place history in an "all or nothing" category, which is the nonsensical attitude I was responding to).

Perhaps, you should have paid attention to the next two sentences I wrote: Jews were ensalved, murdered, forceably converted, or at best subject to Dhimmitude, a system somewhere between Jim Crow and apartheid. Jews have been treated well and poorly in most societies."
MY point is clear. Muslims have horribly mistreated Jews. At different times, Jews were tolerated, allowed to flourish, or persecuted in most countries.

I suppose your reform education did not teach you that the sages of Europe migrated from Europe to North Africa, and eventually the Middle East?

Let's have some perspective. The Spanish Christians did not end of the Golden Age of Jews in Spain, it was the Muslims who did with the Granada Massacre

It was not until the so-called Enlightenment and subsequent assimilation that Europe appeared to be less hostile to Jews (we will leave you alone if you don't seem so Jewish).
Jews were allowed back to England in the mid 17th century, two generations before the Enlightenment. And for almost 400 years from the Statute of Kalisz in 1264 until the Chmielnicki Uprising (these were Ukranians) in 1648, Jews in Poland had their own Golden Age. The Enlightenment was certainly a positive turning point, but history is rather complex here.

Sometimes I think I would feel much more culturally at home in the 1940's USA than today. Jews as a community always thrived in the US, even if the few stores and establishments in that era held sighs "no Jews allowed".

Spare me your demogoguery and sarcasm. That the races were getting along better without the meddlesom freedom riders is of no consequence to you. And anyone who speaks against them is smeared as a racist or in my case a budding self hater.

And blacks thanked the Jews for the Civil Rights help by becoming the most antisemitic of the ethnic groups (Islam is not a race so it doesn't fall under that category).

Yeah, in my mis-spent youth in the IAF, I was chasing some very attractive Eqyptian/Lebanese girl who was very, very willing. (She was a fitness instructor, and “hot” barely does her justice.)

My Druze CO caught wind (mainly because every other pilot wanted to bed her and was going “Him?! He got her?!@”), and not-so-laughingly reminded me that “Shiskappeal” gave the world arabs.

Well, when I underwent Christian training as a youth, we were taught “The Ten Commandments” word-by-parsed-word, and had to memorize the commandment and the interpreted meaning.

We read that Moses brought the Ten Commandments, which were written by the hand of God, down from Mount Sinai, and upon seeing the sinful ways of the people....he smashed them in anger.

We were taught that the Old Testament was “The Law” and the New Testament was “The Gospel”.

I don’t know if God meant for gentiles to follow the Ten Commandments, but it seems (although it’s impossible to live without sin) that Conservative Christians try to live by them.

This is what I believed “Judeao-Christian” principles meant.

If you're interested in the meddling those Civil Rights people did, try picking up a book called Klandestine. It is the story of Delmar Dennis who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan for the FBI. In large part it regards those two Jews and the black kid, Schwermper, Goodman, Chaney, who were killed by Sam Bowers's, Ku Klux Klan -- probably the most dangerous klan btw....

I think the new price is way too expensive so maybe you can get the used version.

Well, after they won the Russian Civil War, during which many atrocities happened to many groups of people, they did. Not to say the Communists were/are nice guys, but the first couple of decades of the new USSR were pretty much free of the traditional Russian antisemitism. Yes, traditional/religious life of the Jews was suppressed, but so was everyone else’s - in favor of “internationalism”. The Bolsheviks were busy destroying Orthodox Christianity and implementing collectivization policies.

Not until after WWII, the late-day Stalinism, did official state antisemitism emerge again. With the Michoels affair and then the Doctor’s Affair. Fortunately, Stalin died before it got much worse. I still think its a good possibility someone (maybe Beria) strategically gamed Stalin’s paranoid personality to instigate the whole Doctor’s Plot so that the Jewish doctors who were very succesfully treating Stalin all those years were removed (remember, it all started with a letter from a “patriotic” nurse who allegedly witnessed Jewish doctors attempting to poison the party leadership.) After he got new doctors and new treatments, guess what, he did not live very long.

There were actually at least two parties in which Jews figured prominent in pre-1917 Russia.

The Russian Social Democratic Labour Party, which split up into Bolsheviks (who later became what is known as Communist Party) and Mensheviks. There was also Socialist-Revolutionary Party.

Both of which initially shared power for a little while in a coalition with the Bolsheviks, but later when Bolsheviks seized complete power, were disbanded and their members persecuted.

Well, if you shared that mindset, you wouldn't want Jews in your company, political or otherwise, would you? Thanks for your posts. Have you noticed everyone has a Jewish friend or relative who is despicable, translating the experience to all Jews. True or not, think that could be a sign of bigotry?

If you're OK with the Ten Commandments, you're fine with the Noachides, the Covenant with Noah for non Jews, which reduces the ten to seven, and in reality the 613 Commandments to Jews to something in the area of 250. Wiki is OK for a reallly short explanation. And as a Christian it's not surprising you haven't heard of them, it's the law for non Jews from a Jewish perspective, which isn't really relevant to Christain training, since there aren't conflicts.
