According to a declassified 2005 report released last week, China had been testing the effects of an electromagnetic pulse attackthe detonation of a nuclear device at high altitude to maximize the area affected by the EMPpossibly meant for Taiwan. According to the report, China was actually testing two kinds of nuclear blasts and the effects the resulting radiation would have on humans. (China was testing them on animals, which experienced high mortality rates.) The point of an EMP attack (all nuclear explosions result in an EMP), however, is to disrupt the electronics devices within range of the blast.

The days of sneak attack are long gone. China can’t load a ship without six countries knowing a week ahead of time what is to be loaded on board. The exact same conditions apply to America.
Read this next paragraph and determine the one and only way that China could be certain they “would not provoke an American nuclear assault on China in return.”
“In other words, China was testing a way to knock out any resistance Taiwan or the U.S. could put up against its own attack on Taiwan, and was aiming for an attack that would not provoke an American nuclear assault on China in return. They were not, the report points out, looking to kill any Americans.”
Right, the one and only way that China could be certain they “would not provoke an American nuclear assault in return” is to bring it out and disclose their intentions BEFORE they attack Taiwan. Do it with our full and complete sanctioning. In other words give us a chance to hash it out, get our super secret equipment and personnel off the island, write and rewrite the speeches we are going to give the people explaining our non-action before the truth breaks on the Internet. They wouldn’t want to look like fools to the American voters, would they ?
You’re thinking there’s no way they would do such a thing! Remember in 1999 when they gave away control of the Panama Canal to China? Remember when they tried to swing a deal to lease the abandoned Long Beach Naval Station to COSCO. In the next election, it cost Rep. Duncan Hunter his job for fighting the administration. Do not get the Boss pissed off if you want to keep working here!
My personal opinion is that they will do damn near anything to get the New World Order unwrapped, out of the box, up and running. If that means another million people have to die, oh well, that’s life when you’re at the top looking down on the little people.
>>We common citizens will be taken down one way or another anyway, sooner or later.<<
We patriotic, motivated, self reliant, resistor types, uncontrollable, uncommon citizens will be taken down one way or another anyway, sooner or later.
That’s fine with me. I’d much rather die standing up with a rifle in my hands, if need be, than in chains and on my knees.
“Who says that they are starting from nothing?”
I said so. Japan is a signatory of NPT and does not have tested weapon grade fissile material let alone full blown war head, or a missile delivery system. Japan never carried out any nuclear test. There is a VAST difference between having the capability to build them and actually having them. A lot of countries including South Africa, Japan and Germany very much have technological capability to build nuclear weapons and delivery systems.(They don’t need anything from Bill Clinton or India or France) That still does not mean they can build and induct nuclear missiles for military use within weeks or even months. That’s the difference between SA, Germany, Japan and Pakistan, North Korea. Pakistan and North Korea have them built and ready for use. It doesn’t happen overnight.
Beside if Japan wanted nukes they could have built them long time ago. Perhaps even before France and UK got theirs. Japan is culturally and historically averse to possession of nuclear weapons. There is no way anyone could have “slip them a couple”.
Do you remember the Sci-Fi series Dark Angel that ran from 2000-2002? The premise behind the movie's post-apocalyptic setting is that terrorists detonated a nuclear bomb over the center of the US and fried almost everything.
We're talking past each other a little bit with that last sentence or two.
Recall that the premise for this conversation is that China has used nukes (either ground/air burst *or* in space, for the EMP) over Taiwan.
Japan has been on the receiving end of nukes (the only time in history they've been used in war) and didn't like it.
They have neither the population to slug it out with China nor the space to go all Russian and do a defense in depth.
So the only deterrent to nukes (once they've been detonated in-theatre) is...other nukes.
I think, in that scenario *only*, someone else might lend Japan a couple working nukes while they put something together.
Here's hoping it *doesn't* become necessary.
B4, you make some fascinating points and I appreciate reading them. Thank you. You offer much food for thought. We do live in those “interesting times” dont we???
BTW I’m truly not thinking that the Chinese “would do no such thing!” - the situation for whatever reason has not been optimal from their point of view. I believe they would do it in a heartbeat. But they are not in a hurry. As I understand it, in their culture they have the habit of taking the long view of history and making their plans accordingly. I’m just HOPING that opportunity will get away from them because of more Americans, and perhaps other westerners seem to be waking up. (Dear God, please make that true!! Amen)
This was the thread / you saw it already?
Hadn’t. Thanks.
