U.S. to Take Another Look at Gay Blood Donation Ban
National Journal ^ | 7/26/11 | Maggie Fox

A policy that bars gay men from donating blood for life is “suboptimal,” advisers to the Health and Human Services Department said on Tuesday, and needs another look. HHS asked a committee of experts on blood and tissue donations to reexamine the policy and see if there is a way to let at least some gays donate blood. Blood doesn't last that long and you'd have to be able to anticipate your needs.

Donated red blood cells must be used within 42 days of collection.
Donated platelets must be used within five days of collection.
Plasma can be frozen and used for up to a year.

"I have a rare blood type and get called to donate on the exact day I am able to redonate after my last donation, just like clockwork. I too will drop out if homosexuals tait our blood supply."

Yeah, me too. But I would never think of dropping out. All the more reason to be faithful.

It is for the common good.

Under 0bamacare the gay blood would only be given those heteros over 75 years of age.

If a supply remains give it to the heteros over 65 and even younger if the supply is available.

Then the Death Panels would deny treatment for aids which would reduce the number of people drawing social security and heath care benefits.

A win/win proposition

Will the military take blood from fudgepacking troops and give it to other troops?

US President Barack Obama has announced the 17-year military ban on openly gay service will end on Sept.20 2011.
More than 13,000 service members have been dismissed under the policy of DADT, and many will try to get back into the U.S. Military. My spouse and kids are my walking blood donors, that’s it!

The blood bank is supposed to test each and every pint donated for diseases, regardless of the donor’s interview responses about fitness to donate.

There is an occult incubation period shortly after infection which eludes many of the HIV tests. Even if perfected, should we really allow for the possibility of a botched testing procedure for a unit of blood that may be used by the general population?

Sure, the homos can lie, but a sane society would make the detection of infection after the pretense of qualification by a homosexual a felony punishable by imprisonment.

Probably already know. HIV is a protected disease. As a patient, will I have a right to know where the blood is coming from?
Protection of the rights of minorities has gone to far.
I guess next it will be the right of an alcoholic to donate his liver.

Will they finally be satisfied when half the world is queer and the other half is infected with AIDS?

If you exclude intravenous drug users, I would bet that the rate of infection for gay men is 300 or more times higher than the general public.

My GF is an RN who originally worked in Vancouver, BC. The AIDS ward had only ONE nurse, and no one wanted the shift. Because of her seniority in the union, my GF was able to position herself not to take the shift. It’s the most depressing department and ALL the patients were gays. More depressing than the Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s wards.

Yes. But it’s been 25 years and I think we would have exhibited symptoms by now. Although we do go to Britain yearly and we do eat beef. Hyped up ridiculousness.

Just when I think I've seen and heard it all, some insanity like this pops up. There's just no end to the stupidity that queers and their minions (liberals) can come up with.

This is what liberal governments do at all levels. Waste time and money on left wing endeavors that hurt people.

60 times higher! Heaven forbid though that we should call it the queer disease.
