Laura Ingraham got the man of the hour on her show this morning, who confirmed that he did indeed tell the House Republican caucus to “get their asses in line” to pass his debt-ceiling proposal — once the rewrite comes in. Speaker John Boehner also explained how he and Mitch McConnell would keep the deficit-reduction commission it creates from raising taxes, especially — as Boehner reminds us — some tax hikes are already in place. Boehner explains that he wants to push the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act, but he wants to make sure that he and a Republican Senate can present it to a Republican President in 2013:

The key in this decision by Boehner seems to be his assessment that the GOP will lose leverage the closer we get to the deadline — whenever that might be. If that’s true, then Boehner is making a smart play by consolidating what rhetorical gains the GOP has made in this debate and getting to a rapid conclusion. After watching the Gang of Six play last week in the Senate take the momentum out of the CCB Act, it’s not hard to see why Boehner came to that conclusion. Can Boehner succeed in whipping his caucus to get the needed majority to pass his plan? At the moment, that seems iffy — but Boehner has had a good track record in holding his caucus in line over the last four years.

This according to Rush just now. This is the level of dishonesty we up against.

Told him that his “rear-end” answered to me, not to Boner.
Been trying to get through to Boner’s office to ask him just where the He!! he gets off acting this way—No luck, yet.
He wowed me Monday. He’s disgracing himself today. I’ve had ENOUGH with these losers.

I’ve been arguing this for the longest time... JUST LET THE AUGUST 2 DEADLINE PASS AND DON’T PASS ANY NEW DEBT CEILING.
That’ll FREEZE everything.
We will then have enough revenue to fund our debt interest payments, the three major entitlements, defense and the veterans.
As for the rest of the government programs, no debt ceiling increase means Obama has NO CHOICE but to CUT departments left and right or trim them down significantly.

Because it’s crap. We’re sick of the politics behind it. GOP loses politics no matter what. Do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may.
Then WHY are the tea party members protesting to remove Boehner as Speaker. Are these people idiots? “A house divided agains itself cannot stand”, that’s a biblical quote, and it has literal applications.
The gang of six (3 dems) are being divided intenally by those dems, who are oppossing Boehner, by trying to drive a wedge between the Speaker and McConnell/Eric Cantor, etc.
Boehner has been in Wash, DC 25 yrs, and has the experience, to handle this, just what makes them think Eric Cantor would be a better speaker, the experience just isn’t there....he can be speaker some other time, let’s get the job done!
Supporting the man (Boehner), who has stood up to Obama, not returned his calls, and called his bluff on the checks going out..WHAT’S THE PROBLEM WITH THE TEA PARTY? They are playing into Obama’s hands, as he is looking for a Revolution/Ritos, so he can have a reason to implement Marshall Law. The man is getting desperate now.
As for Crawley, Colmes sister in law, trying to take
down Boehner on Fox News, while being interviewed by Martha. WHAT?
The Conservatives are going to lose 2012, unless they learn about UNITY, AND STICKING TOGETHER.
What next? Trump running independent like Ross Perot, who gave Bill Clinton the White House. Gee Whiz, we are worse off with this bunch, than with G. W. Unbelievable behavior.
America is smarter than that. It’s not about blame for most of us, it’s about saving this country. Neither plan will save this country because of the phantom cuts that will never be enacted.
