But that actually is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about something that started to become apparent to me during the debt negotiations. It's something I've never seen in national politics.
It is that nobody loves Obama. This is amazing because every president has people who love him, who feel deep personal affection or connection, who have a stubborn, even beautiful refusal to let what they know are just criticisms affect their feelings of regard. At the height of Bill Clinton's troubles there were always people who'd say, "Look, I love the guy." They'd often be smiling—a wry smile, a shrugging smile. Nobody smiles when they talk about Mr. Obama. There were people who loved George W. Bush when he was at his most unpopular, and they meant it and would say it. But people aren't that way about Mr. Obama. He has supporters and bundlers and contributors, he has voters, he may win. But his support is grim support. And surely this has implications.

I was startled to hear on a bus one time a conversation between 2 young black women with 5 children between them all under the age of 6. One said that she was tired of politicians, was not going to vote in ‘12. The other concurred and asked what 0bama had done for them. This is the ghetto contingent, of course. They heard him as he lead them to believe that all the white hucksters were going to be thrown out of their homes and those homes were then going to be given to them because with about 3 kids a piece, they needed 4 bedroom homes more than the people living in them in 2008 who had 2 kids and a Grand piano. And the displaced people could then go and buy or build new ones because they had the money. That is what it means to organize a community, as far as they know, and he has failed to organize it to their satisfaction.
I’ve noticed that there are a lot fewer vehicles with 0bama-Biden stickers on them in my county. I’m thinking people must have had to sell their cars. The scenery is vastly improved, of course.
Maybe Peg lost her invite to Barry’s 50th party at the WH and Michelle’s latest junket to wherever.
For years the country has been eager to elect a black President. The fantasy was that since all the liberal nostrums had only made race relations worse, a black President would work some kind of magic.
Along came Zero, “well-spoken and clean” as Joe Bite-Me put it. He was, in fact, an incompetent narcissist, with the murkiest of backgrounds, but he was the right color. So he got the job.
Then reality bit.

I agree with you. I know several people who voted for this POS and said “give him a chance”. Now that they have seen the destruction he has caused, they hate him. That’s why his re-election chances are dimming rapidly. Thank goodness.
The middle class is being destroyed by his policies.

Actually I click on on all of the Peggy Noonan and George Will threads just to see how the Freepers are reacting to these turncoat bozos. My view: Most Freepers have figured these guys out and pretty much discount anything they write. It's not universal but it's a pretty good majority.

But, I think old Peg is a good windsock in this instance. As one of the biggest Obama fawners, she is now calling him a “loser”. That alone gives this piece credibility. Notice, she is not whispering this to a friend. She has put it in print.

That’s a factor for folks for sure. But IIRC, he got that in Vietnam, for which I have the most respect for.
OTOH, backing Obama in 2008? If he wasn’t a WIA vet, I’d say he belongs in a toilet.

The only accomplishment of the Cash for Clunkers program was to get 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.
