Putin says U.S. is a "parasite" on global economy

(Reuters) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin accused the United States Monday of living beyond its means "like a parasite" on the global economy and said dollar dominance was a threat to the financial markets.

"They are living beyond their means and shifting a part of the weight of their problems to the world economy," Putin told a Kremlin youth group while touring its summer camp north of Moscow.

"They are living like parasites off the global economy and their monopoly of the dollar."

President Barack Obama announced a last-ditch deal to cut about $2.4 trillion from the U.S. deficit over a decade, avoid a crushing debt default and stave off the risk that the nation's AAA credit rating would be downgraded.

The deal initially soothed anxieties and led Russian stocks to jump to three-month highs, but jitters remained over the possibility of a credit downgrade.

PLEASE!

If this is not justification for withdrawing all foreign aid, I don’t know what is! You’re on your own world! Please don’t ask us or our children or our grandchildren to contribute to your well being. YOU are on your own!

It was a problem with translation. Putin though Mark Halperin had refered to Obama as “kind of a tick”.

At over $100,000,000,000,000 (100 Trillion) in public and private debt, we are effectively bankrupt.

Remember that old flick, “Red Dawn”...?

I loved it! Cheered my lungs out when that kid held up the AK, screaming, “Wolverines..!”. I don’t regret it at all —the USSR was scary. Heck, in many ways it (Russia) STILL is.

But you know what?

RussiaToday (youTube) is WAY more honest about USA news than CNN is.

They don’t sugar-coat it —they never do.

I NEVER could have predicted that I’d EVER read or watch a Russian source, but we’ve reached a Twighlight Zone-ish place where ex-commies (?) are more honest than the President of the United States.

For some reason, Putin doesn’t seem to have any issue with accepting foreign aid from this parasite.

So, you believe that the US is a parasite? Well, if you are in the US, then you need to relocate. Please. You don’t understand the tactic here. They are trying to foment the collapse of the US by undermining the dollar and our credibility.

Do you know how much debt Russia has?

It is rare for a country to stay within their means. The idea is too get it as close as possible. Hard to balance a budget, but it is possible. Harder still if you have those like the current crop of Democrats.

Nice try, Pooty, but parasites aren’t usually the biggest organism in the relationship nor the one whose life blood is being drained away.

We were bankrupt way before we hit the 100 trillion mark.

Maybe but it would be your ass and mine that he would kick not cronies. He’s a despicable, devious dictator...not really the sort we want. We already have that.

Now Netanyahu...I could go for. :)

I agree with you.

Putin’s words are really no different from what dozens of FReepers express every day.

I love it!
Class warfare goes global.
Liberals do not even know what they’ve unleashed.

George Orwell was right: “So much of left-wing thought is a kind of playing with fire by people who don’t even know that fire is hot.”

He is right. We abuse our reserve currency status by printing trillions of dollars exporting inflation. It will come back to haunt us.

It’s not hard to stay within your means, but it takes indistry, not Government jobs.

China stays within their means because now they have our industry. Mexico now has 5% unemployment with our industry,

Japan , Korea, Thailand, they all have our industry. We allowed American plants to be moved there. In fact we encouraged it.

Now as for Putin, the guy is a dick, but he aint all wrong about America being a parasite.

We allowed our industry to go away and now we have to keep borrowing from the places it went.

I’d put a variation on what Putin said:

World capital is being sucked up and devoured by the friends of the Obama admin; unions, lawyers, activist groups and a small set of “G” companies (GE, Goldman, GM).

And the whole world will be made to starve.

What will they try to “get done” during the impending, engineered collapse...?? Ideas?

Fast & Furious shows they’re VERY comfortable with inducing a crisis in which people get killed —250 Mexican cops, so far, and 2 US offficers.

How about a Palin/Putin ticket. Don’t think anyone would bother her with him next in line. I’m kidding of course. I’d just like to see a mean a$$ in office that would kick some liberal butts.

Exactly plus we screwed ourselves with “free trade”. We should have put up tariffs 20 years ago to protect industries and jobs. But the free traitors in DC have been calling the shots for years and making billions ofo this too. Sending industry overseas

Also blame the EPA and OSHA for stifling industry and production here, to where US companies have great incentives to move production outside our borders. To Mexico then China
