Democracy - The Most Costly Lie in American History
Right Side News ^ | 8/2/2011 | J B Williams

Posted on 08/03/2011 8:24:22 AM PDT by IbJensen

Democracy is exactly what we have in America today and it’s even worse than Thomas Jefferson warned when he said - “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.”

It’s really much worse than Jefferson indicated… it’s what Karl Marx said it was, “the road to socialism.”

Thomas Jefferson was a well-traveled and studied individual, commissioned to write our Declaration of Independence at the founding of our country and a significant player in the formation of our Constitutional Representative Republic. He was also one of our nation’s most prolific writers of the time, quoted more than any other Founding Father.

It was Jefferson who said – “He who knows nothing is closer to the truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.” – and once again, he may have understated the truth.

A hundred years past the onset of leftist indoctrination in America, via the press, academia, entertainment and politicians, few American’s know much about our founding principles and values, yet many are convinced that they do.

Terms like patriot and constitutionalist are greatly over-used, even abused, and often proclaimed by people who have not even read our founding documents recently, much less lived by them.

Among the many lies sold to American generations since the turn of the twentieth century is the lie that America is a democracy. It functions much like a pure democracy today, as we watch thirty percent of the nation use democratic “mob-rule” tactics to run roughshod over seventy percent of the nation.

But we were not formed as a democracy, and for good reason.

Our system of self-governance was carefully crafted as a Constitutional Representative Republic, which is much different than a democracy. A Constitutional Representative Republic bears three important traits not found in a pure democracy. 1. A Republic is a state in which the exercise of the sovereign power is lodged in representatives elected by the people. From the local precinct delegate, to city, county, state and federal lawmakers, to the Electoral College, to the Presidency, these are all elected representatives of the people. 2. As a Representative Republic, the elected representatives must at all times represent the will of the vast majority of citizens, or it is not a system of self-governance, nor is it a system of representation. 3. The Constitution provides checks and balances, and strict limitations upon the authority of these representatives of the people. They must represent the will of the majority – they are limited to the authority granted them in the Constitution – and they cannot use the will of the majority to infringe upon the rights of any minority.

Today, our representatives do not represent the will of the majority of citizens. Instead, they pander to the parasites of our society for purpose of political gain. They are using the taxpayer’s revenue to buy votes, plain and simple, and those votes come from a collection of special interest minorities.

They are in no way restricted by the limited authority granted in the Constitution and this is not a republic. We are watching democracy right now, as a minority of Americans use the democratic process to force the nation into socialism against the will of the vast majority.

What was once an underground subversive socialist/communist movement against the Constitutional Republic is now an overt act of open treason against the Republic and the people it is supposed to represent, coming from within the halls of our own government.

The debate is long over… Republicans are spineless wimps and Democrats are pure communists.

The two legislative branches of the Democratic Socialists of America are the Progressive Caucus and Black Caucus. If you are trying to figure out how and why our once free nation is racing towards the communist cliff at break-neck speed today, look no further.

Funded by international labor unions, today’s Democrat Party is controlled by the Democratic Socialists of America via their two congressional caucuses. Every prominent Democrat is a member of these caucuses today, and most of them are members of DSA-USA, the Socialist Party or Communist Party who partnered together to form The Democratic Socialists of America.

If you want to know who Obama’s citizen army is, it is American socialists and communists, the new Black Panthers, illegal immigrants, and labor union thugs like those seen in the recent Wisconsin battle to balance their state budget.

The Class Warfare assault based on the Cloward-Piven Strategy has hit its stride in America, pitting the proletariat against investors and employers, blacks against whites and illegal immigrants against legal U.S. citizens.

As Democratic Socialists replace our Constitutional Republic with their proletariat democracy, in which the 51% who don’t pay income taxes in America can run roughshod over the 49% in America who do pay taxes, our nation reaches a point of no return warned about in my October 2006 column, When 51-49 becomes 49-51.

After a hundred years of socialist indoctrination in America, even many Republicans and Tea Partiers wrongly refer to our form of government as a democracy. Many, who proclaim the status of constitutionalists, believe in democratic principles, not republican principles, even though the Constitution clearly guarantees every state and every citizen “a republican form of government.”

You know your freedom is in danger when the Prime Minister of Communist Russia calls you a nation of parasites - "They are living beyond their means and shifting a part of the weight of their problems to the world economy," - Putin told the pro-Kremlin youth group Nashi. - "They are living like parasites off the global economy and their monopoly of the dollar," - Putin said at the open-air meeting with admiring young Russians.

As the balance of the world struggles to escape the bankruptcy caused by their own experiments with socialism and communism, the U.S. government is rushing towards the communist cliff and not a single Republican will lift a finger to put a stop to it.

Karl Marx was right, as was Thomas Jefferson… Democracy is the road to socialism and socialism is but a stepping stone to communism. We don’t call it that anymore. We prefer the politically correct term – progressive.

We call it wealth redistribution, but it is pure socialism. Half of Americans now want it and the other half has no idea how to stop it.

As long as both sides think we are a democracy, we will remain on the road to socialism.

Only by demanding an immediate return to our Constitutional Representative Republic can we turn away from impending disaster. But with most Americans convinced we are a simple democracy by mob rule - -who is going to make that demand?

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” – Thomas Jefferson

It’s too bad that most Americans no longer revere the brilliance of our Founders. Common sense was long ago replaced with unbridled class envy. Only the politicians win that game!

In our case 'democracy' which we try to shove down the throats of the world like a overbearing brother, is indeed the road to communism! Our leftist and moderate leaders have proven that.

The Republicrats allow their leftist Democrat buddies to have their way most of the time. They are experts at being snookered! We are the ones who lose, however, while they continue on in the career that should never have been!

Jefferson was the biggest exponent of democracy in the Founder’s generation. It isn’t for nothing that he is considered the founder of the Democrat party.

Republicans rarely have the opportunity to stop the Democrats from having their way because the ignorant electorate insists on electing the RAT crooks over and over.

Republicans can do nothing when the electorate is filled with fools.

One simple solution would be no voting rights for parasites; if you habitually take more from the government (theft from your fellow citizens), then you lose the right to vote.

AKA No Representation without Taxation.

Much truth in this article but whether democracy or republic, what we’ve actually been doing is electing financial distribution managers to an ever expanding bureaucracy. Democrats and Republicans are elected to fill exactly the same positions, the only difference is in how much to increase a few programs that are favored by one side or the other.

Pretty good despise list though I’d put Nixon ahead of Clinton. The man not only fully funded LBJ’s welfare state but gave us disasterous wage and price controls. At least, Clinton signed welfare reform.

I usually cringe when I hear people talk about “our democracy”. This country was never intended to have or be governed by a “democracy”— but a representative Constitutional republic—or at least used to be. But then again, people only know what they’ve heard parroted to them without bothering to find out what it means or what are the true differences. This is why people make great fodder—they line up like ducks to be shot—one by one.

I really don't believe that representative government, of the kind we had nearer our founding, would have served us much better than that which we currently have which is closer to a democracy.

Politicians either serve their puppet masters or their constituents. If their puppet masters are greedy short-term focused a-holes and their constituents are lazy short-term focused parasites then they will make the same decisions regardless of how they got into office.

Somehow believing that senators chosen by governors would be smarter or more honorable than senators chosen by citizens is wishful thinking.

Focusing any attention on whether or not the electoral system is undermined by efforts to get states to have all their electors vote for the candidate with the most votes is also wasteful. Just look at past history and the candidate with the most electors has almost always been the candidate with the most votes.

The real estate bubble was a perfect example of how everyone, from the bottom to the top, participated in a massive Ponzi scheme to everyone's disadvantage except the few at the top. We are no smarter than the stupid Albanians who got caught up in their Ponzi scheme a decade before us.

The only real alternative to a system based on voting by the people is something like a monarchy. Something like they have in China and Singapore. It may turn out that those types of governments work out better in the long run, but that's just not going to happen in the US unless we have total economic collapse.

I agree that we shouldn't be spending any money shoving democracy down the throats of any other countries. That is decidedly un-conservative. Only the modern day Wilsonian neo-cons are still daft enough to support that.

Instead of hoping for some hail mary pass like a balanced budget amendment, term limits, or enforcement of the 9th and 10th amendments we need to work each bill on a case-by-case basis to weed out the bad ones and help through the good ones.

The good news about a democracy is that everyone has the opportunity to become part of the shadow puppet master ruling class. All you need to do is forget that you are an American, see America not as a country to defend but a carcass to scavenge, and start acting like a vulture.

Either that or give up, go on welfare, and spend your days drinking cheap beer in front of the TV.

Now, a test on American history and the Constitution ought to do the job. The subjects of the state educational system were never taught the important parts.

The die was cast when the communists, socialists, racists and promoters of sexual deviancy were allowed to take over the public school systems.

They now have most of the nations children to brainwash for 12 years. Is there any doubt why young adults think favorably of communist tyrants and have almost no unbiased knowledge of American history?

The nation is doomed unless control of the nation’s schools is taken back from the leftists and what are the chances that will take place?

Yes, we're headed on a road to direct democracy and it will ruin this nation. Why, I bet the Democrats are scheming to let ALL 300 million Americans vote on whether we want to keep Obamacare any day now. And we all the know they just loveeeeee to let ALL citizens of a state vote on whether they want gay marriage, instead of having activist judges impose it by force. Speaking of judges, since we're suffering from too much democracy I have no doubt EVERY American will be allowed to vote on whether or not to retain federal judges, rather than give them lifetime jobs. And every American will get to vote on Obama's debt ceiling deal, too. Plus we'll all get to vote on cabinet confirmations in the near future, Eric Holder will be facing the electorate since we're a pure democracy! Oh, and that war in Libya will need to get at least 51% of Americans to approve it too. Plus gays in the military... clearly that can't be implemented unless well over 100 million citizens vote yes...

Or it could be the problem ISN'T "too much democracy", it's socialists and liberals who treat the constitution like toilet paper.

This is the most ignorant statement I've ever read on Free Republic. Jefferson did nothing but warn against what the Democrat party is today. And if some of today's Rats claim him as their founder, it's just another slanderous lie from a party of liars. To promote such garbage is to act as their tool, and grievously defame one of the greatest warriors for fredom who ever lived.

Not to mention that your statement is the exact opposite of this article - which I'm sure you're well aware.

Jefferson was the Left wing of the Founding generation and happily allied with the highly Democratic Burr machine in NY City in order to win the presidency. Burr’s Tammany Hall boys lied, cheated and stole just as today’s Democrats do. He also defended and worked with the French Revolution after it had become obviously tyrannical.

Jefferson operated under a mask of virtue but was as big a liar and manipulator as has ever been seen in American politics. Just read what he did to his henchman Burr for no discernible reason. Tell me about the Burr Treason Trials and also that they were something an honorable man would have forced. Listen to what his own cousin, John Marshall, says about him.

Most of my life I believed Jefferson was a great president and great patriot. Then I started doing some intense research into the period of the Founding. Boy was I shocked when I started getting into Jefferson. Malone whitewashes, overlooks or excuses a lot. What I found did not make me happy.

Nor do I think Jefferson liked or (from anything I can see) really understood the Constitution certainly not like Madison or Hamilton. We are fortunate that he was in France when it was written and ratified.

“No poll tax, but an IQ test. Anyone falling below 100 gets kicked out.”

I actually think a poll tax is a good method of demonstrating a financial stake in a community before welding power over it.

Of course a better method might simply be to prove that you own property in the community, and have lived there a while to demonstrating your financial stake.

Leftist freeloading locust cannot be allowed to uses local and State goverment to loot every community try just as they look the whole of us with the lawless Federal goverment.

PS: An IQ test is subjective, and thus invariably corruptible into a political test.
