Taxpayers to Cover Obama Bus Tour of Battleground States -- ‘He’s the President,’ Says White House Wednesday, August 03, 2011 By Fred Lucas

Washington (CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama’s jobs bus tour will be funded by taxpayers, as he travels through the Midwest states typically viewed as swing states during presidential years.

Obama will begin the bus tour through several Midwestern states beginning Aug. 15, the White House announced on Tuesday, to talk about strengthening jobs and the economy.

“He is very happily getting out into the country again after a very sustained period here in Washington and he looks forward to talking to folks about growing the economy, creating jobs -- we will have more details as I said about the specifics of the trip,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said on Wednesday.

Carney also said he did not have specifics about precisely where the president would go or what he might be announcing.

CNSNews.com asked Carney, “Is that a campaign event or a presidential event?

Carney answered, “Negative. That is an official event.”

CNSNews.com followed, “So it is being funded by taxpayers in battleground states?”

Carney responded, “He’s the president of the United States.”

Another reporter followed up about whether there was a political nature to the trip.

“The air of cynicism is quite thick,” Carney shot back. “The idea that the president of the United States should not venture forth into the country is ridiculous.”

The reporter said, “I didn’t say that.”

“He is very happily getting out into the country again after a very sustained period here in Washington “

“So it is being funded by taxpayers in battleground states?”

Michigan can't afford it. Besides, does anybody really believe he's actually going to ride the bus further than the distance from the nearest airport?

But when Sarah Palin did her One Nation bus tour, there were quite a few liberals whining that it was somehow running afoul of campaign finance regulations. It was their usual contortion of logic and the truth in order to get someone they hate.

But Obama’s campaign tour being paid for with tax dollars? No problem.

This is a blatant and unlawful use of taxpayer funds to campaign, period. This is a campaign trip and the reelection committee should be paying for all of it.

Lying, POS National Socialist Democrats and their POS Fuehrer.

Let him use money he’s raising for his campaign. Tax payers shouldn’t have to pay for it.

He’s doing a ‘whatever Sarah does, I can do better’.

What a dweeb - he has all the airwaves for his message. Perhaps he’ll send his tele as a ‘stand in’ on the bus tour.

Image - an anti-American touring America on taxpayer’s dime - the laugh of the day.

America’s PATRIOT - SARAH! Often imitated, never duplicated!

Time to file suit against Obama to force him to pay for the tour with his campaign funds and for criminal misappropriation of taxpayer funds. Let him go on his fling and run up a huge debt...then drain his campaign coffers on pain of criminal prosecution.
