They all talk a good fight, but when the pressure begins, they fold.
I wrote him twice and called his office and still haven't received a reply back from him.
He must feel pretty safe since it is a strong GOP district.
If we allow them to continue spending, borrowing, taxing like there’s no tomorrow, the markets WILL be disrupted soon.
As the entire nation collapses under the heavy weight of debt, unemployment and depression!!
I think the answer is to defeat the Democrats and elected more conservative Republicans first, have them take over both the House and the Senate. There is strength in numbers, and I think with some real leaders, they would help stiffen the spine of the wishy-washy Republican members.
If we focus on defeating Republicans, that will just mean handing over Congress to the Dems, the last thing we and the country needs.
We need real control of both Houses of Congress and a Republican president, THEN we can hold their feet to the fire.
Sorry, I’m not going to vote for a sellout.
I agree, the GOP leadership is too shortsighted to see that.
This guy had better get his act together soon or lose his job. I expect a perfect conservative vote from him for the remainder of this term or he’s a no vote from me! No excuses!
I think that this really goes to show that we really need to look at who we elect before hand. We saw that they had a certain stance on a certain issue and decided that they have Tea Party ideals. We need to look past the small things and verify that who we elect can actual govern and not just give us lip service. They must all be throughly vetted.
We HAD control of the House They sold us out! We intend to hold their feet to the fire NOW! Not next time!! NOW!! Been there, done that.
I cast my vote to shrink a federal government that has done nothing but expand for the past 40 years.
...
While the spending cuts are smaller that I would like, this legislation makes real progress toward restoring fiscal discipline to Washington
///
cutting 1 trillion, while still having a net INCREASE,
of 9 trillion, isn’t shrinking anything.
and it isn’t close to the “fiscal discipline” that every working American family has to have.
and including 10 billion more to Pell grants, and allowing Congress to “DEEM” the 2012 and 2013 passed, shows the true intent.
“We intend to hold their feet to the fire NOW!”
I am all for that.
You should have heard Trump, he was pretty upset at their stupidity.

West has been a big disappointment so far. Hope he gets it together before it’s too late.
Your Rep may not have responded but he got your message. I would send him another stating your intention to support, financially and otherwise, any challenger who can do what he will not. Then follow up in your promise and get yourself new representation.
Thankfully Rep. Trent Franks here in AZ voted no on the bill. I expected no less from him, but still informed him the Wife and I would be watching his vote closely.
Geez, we’ve heard this argument for over 30 years. If not now, when do we hold their feet to the fire?
Didn’t work so well in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 did it? We had both houses of Congress and the WH and they ignored us time after time because of the RINOs and wimps.
We’ve got to clean our own house first before we take on the socialist tyrants or you get more and more BS like this last debt “deal”.
I live in, arguably, one of the most conservative counties in the country (Williamson county in TN) and our representative is Marsha Blackburn. After just three terms in Congress she votes with the leadership because she went to DC and fell into it’s power structure. So she voted for this debt “deal”.
I’m hoping she now gets primaried in 2012 and I will NEVER vote for her again. I don’t give a rats ass if that means a Dem will win the seat (all but impossible - not enough of them in the district).
She needs to go and I told her so. And, like Jim, I got a snarky form email full of gobbledy-gook language.

Sir ,our group down here, worked hard to put him in,we will have a meeting Saturday and decide our next course of action!
I'd fight by your side any time any where.
THANK YOU
Good job. I emailed and telephoned my Congresscritter prior to the vote, communicating clearly that I expected a NO vote from the Representative I have supported through three terms with my financial contributions.
My Congresscritter ignored the will of the People, and got another email from me yesterday to say that I am done. If there’s a Tea Party opponent in the next primary, that person will have my money and my support.
IF I get a response, I’ll look to your reply for an example of how to respond to political razzle dazzle excuse-making. These people MUST come to understand and believe that we are not children, we are not stupid, and that we WILL fire them.
Rock on, Jim.
Even “conservative icon” Allen West was FOR the deal...
Allen West on Debt Deal: 75% is Better Than Expected

Of course they didn’t get any “75%” — they gave Obama what he most wanted, as Trump said, to have this pushed past the 2012 elections.
