Dream Act: Obama passes amnesty by a back door ICE directive
Tea Party Tribune ^ | 6/23/2011 | Gil Guignat

Last Friday, with no fanfare, no press coverage, and with every effort made to hide his actions from the American people, President Obama snuck through the spirit of the DREAM Act via an ICE memo.

Opposed by a majority of the American people and" twice defeated" in Congress, the DREAM Act grants amnesty to any illegal alien residing in the United States if s/he agrees to enlist in the U.S. military or enter college.

The Obama administration memo to John Morton, Director of I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) directs I.C.E. agents now to use “prosecutorial discretion” with regard to enforcing immigration laws. Director Morton says that Obama Administration policy directs border patrol agents not to enforce immigration laws: “When ICE favorably exercises prosecutorial discretion, it essentially decides not to assert the full scope of the enforcement authority available to the agency.”

You read that right. According to the Obama administration “favorable” enforcement means "NOT"enforcing the law!

Under ordinary circumstances this would get Congress screaming for an impeachment. These are no ordinary times.

I’m 100% against amnesty.

I do however feel that anyone who serves honorably in the
US armed forces in a theater of war and in harms way deserves citizenship. This is NOT a form of amnesty.

No one should be allowed to remain in the US simply because they enroll in college...that’s insane.

Zero is a wanna be dictator....he is an ideological twin of Chavez.

Obama is just being Obama.

Where are the Republicans on this? There are dozens of ways they could stop this, and also make it an election issue.

Until they speak up and fight back, the Republicans are just as guilty on this. Sadly, the establishment Republicans are all for amnesty and cheap labor. Remember, it was Bush, McCain, Rove, et al. who were the biggest supporters of amnesty and open borders.

I bet that is what Obama is counting on to make it an election issue. He believes it’ll be in his favor because then all the mexicans will vote for him.

Where are the Republicans on this?

Off dreaming of the day that all of those Hispanic voters will vote for them instead of the Democrats they always vote for.

I don’t feel they need to serve in our Armed Forces.

They have already proven they have NO regard for our laws or our way of life, culture, or Constitution.

I do not want people like this picking up arms OR obtaining benefits through our military, NOR lifelong benefits of healthcare going to THEIR dependents, which will include their zillions of squatting relatives.

These people have always been here on the take. It takes SACRIFICE to be a part of our military.

I’m not against a term of military service for a shot at citizenship but I am against the college option!

I have no problem with offering citizenship to anyone who serves honorably in the military. That doesn’t include the rest of their extended family though.

Congress says no twice

Now we have a “Super Committee” that will handle the votes

If I didn’t know better I would think we have a Chairman and a Politboro.

Where are congresscritters on this? Where are voters on this?
