Standard & Poor's decision to downgrade the nation's credit rating reinforces Democrats' call for increasing tax revenue, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Friday.

Senility and socialist dreams, an ugly mix.

Nevada has 17 counties.

Pinky only has to win outright in one to get reelected.
He puts forth LOTS of pork for that county, Clark County, which contains liberal infested Las Vegas.

Reid will probably die in office, he’s already had at least one stroke.

Reid has typically only won in only one or two counties for the last several elections, most of the state despises him.

Yes, and the GOP will start repeating it.

They bend with the wind.

I’ve been saying this since Obama had a meeting with all the “too big to fail” banks. 1)We are being set up for higher taxes. 2) More bailout money for the banks. One of their idea for another revenue stream is called “Infrastructure Bank”. It well be a back door Co2 Cap and Trade regulation.

That's a brilliant piece of pretzel logic, there Reid.

Reminds me of the story of the two guys in a rowboat. One notices that the boat has sprung a leak. The other suggests cutting a hole in the bottom of the boat so the water will run back out.

reducing expenditure (which to all intents and purposes means cutting back on public services)

I don't know, perhaps its just being an old fart, but I have not noticed public services going up. In fact, quite the opposite. Just like our school systems, the more money they go through, the worse the ratings. The roads are in worse shape, the bridges are crumbling, the police take even longer to come, there are flash mobs and corruption is running extreme in the welfare offices...

My guess is the more money they take in, the more money THEY take.

There are some very dedicated public sector workers out there - teachers, policemen, firefighters and so on - that really do try their best, but because they are not in a competitive market their managers have little incentive to cut costs and increase efficiency.

“...funny...”

Thanks. It’s kinda silly. Kinda real silly for those not old enough to remember the Superman TV show.

Rick Santelli Goes Off: “We’d Be BBB Without Tea Party!” (Video)
Gateway Pundit ^ | August 8,2011 | Jim Hoft

Posted on Monday, August 08, 2011 5:03:44 PM by Hojczyk

From the Video: Rick Santelli reacts to President Obama’s blame game when it comes to the downgrade of the United States of America’s credit rating. Santelli says that if it wasn’t for the tea party movement, America’s credit would have been downgraded to BBB.

He also responds to the argument that we have a revenue problem by comparing it to if his wife spending 30% more money then telling him to get 2 more jobs. Hat Tip Ed
