RE :”Obama and the Rats had super majorities for 2 years, if they wanted tax increases why did they not pass them then?

On taxes,
It only takes 50 Senators to raise taxes (when you have the WH) using budget reconciliation as they did with the final Obama-care bill, Obama and Reid couldn't find 50 out of their 59-60 Senators to raise all those taxes in 2009-2010.(Congressional Republicans never point this out.) Now Democrats say they need a Republican house to raise taxes for them? Ironically if Democrats repealed those taxes back then, they would have lost the tax argument with the voters for at least a decade, just as they blew the stimulus argument with their 2009 Economic Recovery bill. By NOT being successful they left themselves an argument.

As far as CC+B being the only plan, Obama carefully planned for that argument with with his public/secret negotiations : to create the spin that Obama put the only ‘balanced $4 Trillion deficit reduction ‘ approach on the table and Republicans rejected it. Meanwhile Boehner stupidly said Republicans got 95% of what they wanted in this latest crap bill. That doesn't leave much opening for CC+B.

That should have read :"... if Democrats repealled all or part of the tax cuts back in 2009-2010 they would have lost the tax argument for over a decade..."

Someone needs to tell the dems that if tea partiers are terrorists, then they’re pedophiles for what they’re doing to future generations.

The comments are awesome! People are waking up.

Not one comment I read defended Axelrod or Obama. Every single one was laughing at the dupes for blaming the Tea Party, who are the ONLY ones advocating fiscal responsibility, for the downgrade.

I say keep it up, Dems. You'll lose everybody before long.

Of course they did, Axelhole. The TEA Party is the most powerful force in the universe. When we say ‘dump’ credit ratings agencies say ‘how low?’ /s

All it cost Obama was a bottle of scotch.

The Tea Party is letting the Leftist Democrats get out in front of them and use the propaganda technique of Defining Your Opponent. The MSM gets in lockstep behind them and repeats their talking points in order to Define the Tea Party as fringe/lunatic/terrorist. The left is in a full court press with regard to defining the Tea Party. The Tea Party has obviously scared the hell out of them.

The Tea Party needs to fight fire with fire and define the leftist and keep reaffirming their (the Tea Party) values and ideals.

As much as Glenn Beck annoyed me at times, he did have the fortitude and ability to get the message out. He was effective, that is why he was removed.

I am believing that BO and the demons precipitated this situation for the sole purpose of winning back control of the house and securing his relection. He created a crisis out of this situation expecting to panic the markets which to their consternation didn’t materialize to the timing they conspired to acheive. They tried to throw this country under the bus for their own gain and I believe that S&P played a roll here. The pubs should be calling for an investigation on this story.

The mere fact that they are “blaming” the tea party is so absurd that it makes ANYTHING that is coming out of this regime a freaking joke....

Agreed, although when Democrats attack, they may be opening themselves up for attack. Strategically, I think they’re not where they want to be.

The sad thing is, the Republican leadership probably did get 95% of what they wanted. If only the Republican faithful could grasp that.

"...A top White House adviser is blaming the downgrade of the U.S. credit rating on tea party Republicans..."

The Tea Party doesn't represent JUST Republicans....The Tea Party represents all Americans regardless of party or color of skin...it is and always will be all American whose aim & endeavor is to reduce government and spending.

I would like to see the Tea Party demand cuts be made to the bloated Bureaucrats who waste space, time, and money in many of the government agencies....Palin, Bachmann, or Romney along with the rest...all need the cojones to Get Rid of Government WASTE...SS and Medicare, can be left alone...government WASTE from unnecessary Bureaucrats alone are the reduction/cuts this country needs. Taking the fight to the piggy-backed and useless % of Federal Bureaucrats would more than pay for the Trillion dollar debt. If 'they' can do a Military Rift...planned... 'they' surely can clean house in Washington as well. DEMAND IT!!!!!

Actually, Axelrod is a former and some would say failed Chief of Staff.

The fact he is revived indicates he is certain his future is in jeopardy
