I find it kind of odd the snot nosed Brits aren’t making the same kind of comments about their country as they did about the US during Katrina.

Back at ya lime suckers!

The old guideline in the US should be used: Looters will be shot.

“I do not see it as collapse. I see it as a lot of people demanding their governments get out of the way of day to day living. Will governments get the message?”

Are the Tea Party people rioting?

I think you need to rethink your reply.
As it applies to rioters in the UK or in the US,
It is about 180 degrees out of phase with reality.
These people want MORE government supporting them.

I agree that what we see in the UK is just thugs who like free stuff (and probably want the government to hand out more free stuff than it already does).

That being said, if the American people ever rise up and tell our government "Enough!" what will it look like?
Of course, voting for Tea Party candidates is the best way to say "Enough!"

But what if Obama does somethign drastic and ignores congress, the courts, and the people. How do you say "Enough" then?
Once upon a time the government oppressors wore nice red uniforms and would march through the town square. Patriots recognized the problem back then. Today, it's hard to know how to fight the government if the ballot box is insufficient.

I don't think burning American cities to tell the government "Leave me alone" is a good idea -- but I'm not sure what form is appropriate to send that emphatic message, if voting proves insufficient.

Glen Beck has been speaking about the threat of anarchists for at least the past two years and, of course, was vilified as a kook. The Euro-riots of the 1930’s aren’t exactly ancient history, but western society seems to think it can’t happen again. Past is prelude.

That is the stupidest comment I have ever read on this forum.

What you are saying is that these looters and anarchists that are burning the foundation of England's commercial structures are the English equivalent of the American Tea Party?

These scum suckers are the people who have been living on the public dole in England for generations and are just taking advantage of the situation to steal even more stuff from the productive members of the English society. And you claim they just want government to get out of the way of their daily living?

I'm hoping you were being sarcastic. If not, then I think you need to find a new forum to post to.

Without a major U-Turn in America in 2012, Western Civilization will continue to collapse.

Without a major u-turn in the character of the people of the world, 2012 will be a straight shot to hell.

I've seen various comments about "youths acting like bankers."

Society was not broken in 1980 when Reagan picked up the mantel.

He was merely a mirror of the true core of America that Jimmy Carter had painted over in an ugly pink.

Now we're reaping what we've let the left sow for too long.

Any political leader that wins in 2012 will, like 2008 I'm afraid, very closely reflect the core of society.

I hope my calculations are wrong....

It’s already started here with the largely racially motivated attacks in Milwaukee, Chicago, Philadelphia and elsewhere. The dependent underclass who waits everyday for another government hand out from “Obama’s stash” will “spread the wealth around” by looting and rioting if any of their “benefits” are cut. Of course Eric Holder’s Justice Dept. (sic) will spend it’s time looking for domestic terrorists at Tea Party rallies.

The rioters in London was more involvement by the government, not less. The UK is (understandably) trying to cut spending; minorities, wanting to keep their benefits, riot; the rioters turn into looters.

Believe it or not, this Tea Party mention is also what one of the anarchist rioters said (quoted in the British press as he was emerging from a store with an armload of stolen stuff). I might expect it from a British anarchist, but I'm stunned that anybody on FR would say something so idiotic.

Wouldn't you like to throw a brick or two through a window some days?

Let's all start at your house. How many windows do you have. And after we throw a few bricks through your windows, we'll break in and steal all your belongings. Then we'll move on to your business. Then we'll burn your car and your house.

That'll teach Obama a lesson in leaving us all alone, eh?

Islam soon come.

The Muslims will sort out this mess. They'll organize and arm themselves and restore order. Once a few rioters have been beheaded, things will calm down. The British people will rejoice. Order at last!

OK, it's sharia............but you can't have everything, right?
