In a city forced to close senior centers, fire houses and schools by budget shortfalls, Obama met at the St. Regis with a reported 15 people who paid $30,500 a plate for the privilege. Outside well over 100 police patrolled behind miles of metal barricades muscled into place earlier in the day as hundreds of cars had to be towed to clear way.

In Greenwich Village on two streets and one major avenue more hundreds of cars were towed from both sides of the strees and extra details of hundreds of police on foot and patrol vehicles shmoozed together on both sides of more miles of metal barricades as the tow truck crews worked overtime. 120, mostly media stars, paid the price to rub elbows with The Obama at this reported celebration for gay and lesbian marriage rights.

So this exercize of the friendly squeeze cost the City $3 Millions? That's OK,see. He's their main squeeze - the people who really run the place.

Cities might be better off paying Obama to stay away.

New Yawk luvs Obama THAT much!

And for a few starlets to be able to rub elbows with him? Why not have the fete in Washington on the cheap and fly the starlets in. There would be $5 million or so left over for Obama then. I feel free to share this “advice” with Rats because they’d never do anything sensible so it can’t possibly help them.

$2.5 Mill? Does anyone else notice that this dude is not bringing in the cash he said he would? The goal was a Billion dollars this election cycle for Obummer.

There are 453 days till the election. He will have to raise this amount every single day till election. I don’t see it happening.

The elitists. They are so laughable with their talks of paying their fair share. Hollyweird needs to be taxed heavily. They are such a waste.

The city is in a budget crunch. Fellow Dims or not, I’m surprised the Obama campaign is not getting a bill from the city for special services rendered.

From the link..0bama quote..

He said change takes time, and compared today’s struggles to those of the civil rights movement. He said he will dedicate the new Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Washington on Aug. 28 and had already flown over it.

“Now that King has his own memorial on the Mall, I think that we forget when he was alive there was nobody who was more vilified, nobody who was more controversial, nobody who was more despairing at times. There was a decade following the great successes of Birmingham and Selma which was just struggle,” he said. “What he understood, what kept him going was that the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. But it doesn’t bend on its own… it takes time, and it is hard work and it has its frustrations.”

He’s comparing himself to MLK. Sickening.

We knew Martin Luther King, you pos...and you are NO Martin Luther King!!!!!

HAHAHAHA!!!

I'm sure the MoveOn and DailyKos folks just think it's lovely that Zero is charging 30K a plate while we have a destroyed economy, millions out of work, a stock market that is as unstable as Lindsey Lohan.

These people are utter fools!!!
