EUREKA, Ill. -- Sarah Palin told NBC News that Rep. Michele Bachmann winning the straw poll will not affect her decision to run or not, calling her win "not much of a surprise."

"It is not much of a surprise," Palin told NBC News. "I think, at this point, it is more of a test of organization. ... The prediction was that it would either be Ron Paul or Michele Bachmann, because they spent a lot of time and energy to make sure they had delegates there who would cast those votes

Just curious...this article is posted from Eureka, Ill....was Sarah in Eureka? Doesn’t Eureka have a tie to Reagan? I think he went to college there.

The NBC interviewer. She went on NBC to keep her name in the mix on a game day that she didn’t even suit up for, so she runs to Obama’s mouthpiece NBC?

“...they will jump ship” as will anyone who can be bribed “to vote with food, entertainment etc”

Herman Cain has spent very little time in Iowa, in sharp contrast to Michele Bachmann. His long promised bus tour only materialized a few days before the Straw Poll.

"....but the straw poll is really meaningless because first of all its all about bribing people to vote with food, entertainment etc...."

Meaningless?!?!? Bribing people to vote with food, entertainment, etc. is was enough to secure the presidential election in '08.

“the liberal scumbags appear to be quite unnerved over the implications of her victory. I love it. I would love to see President Bachmann. Democrats would be hanging themselves in despair especially after she forces them to attend heterosexuality training camps. LOL”

Agreed.

BUMP

Herman Cain visited Iowa 24 times since announcing his run this spring, and he announced his Iowa bus tour the end of July, just a week ahead of time.

The MSM makes a big deal about Iowa, because they're the first state to go big in Republican Presidential politics. The Straw Poll is kinda like a 'Little League Queen' contest; the girl who can raise the most money is 'voted' the Little League Queen. In this case, the one who SPENDS the money getting folks to the event, or takes the time to organize people, then woos them while they're there, is usually the one to win.

This isn't even the Iowa Caucus, in which Republican and Democrat candidates participate, and is like the primaries in other states. The folks in Iowa, and the MSM, like to make a big deal of the results, but in most cases, the winner of that event, either Republican OR Democrat, isn't the person who ends up being the party nominee for President. So it's really like any other state's primary; not particularly indicative of the eventual Presidential election.

but calling MB to congratulate her is a lot classier than telling some MSM reporter that MB’s win was no big surprise (which it wasn’t). Sorry, but that’s just tacky.

How do we know that Sarah DIDN'T call Michelle? I haven't heard, either way. Sarah isn't a declared candidate for President, and wasn't a participant in the Straw Poll. Even though Mitt wasn't there to garner votes in the Straw Poll, he IS a declared candidate, so it was nice for him to call his opponent, Michelle.
