Prior to the 2010 elections, pollster Pat Caddell warned members of the political ruling class that the nation “…may be at a pre-revolutionary moment,” calling the November vote “…more of a national referendum than any [midterm] since Watergate.”
A longtime Democrat, Caddell’s warning was not directed exclusively to his party, for though it would bear the brunt of voter scorn, Republicans were also widely mistrusted and arguably enjoyed a record victory principally because they were NOT Democrats.
As a measure of voter distemper, consider that John McCain, a presidential candidate just 2 years earlier, might have suffered a primary defeat had he been challenged by a more formidable opponent.
Indeed, finally called to account for his frequent betrayal of conservatives, the McCain campaign was forced to craft a right-wing political caricature which left him barely recognizable as the aisle crossing capitulator he had been…a role which cost other Republicans their careers.
Nor has the mood of an angry and suspicious public changed in the interim unless it be for the worse as the arrogance of political elites and their contempt for voters, the nation and the law have intensified with each passing year.
After all, politicians readily boast an ability to do as they wish while blissfully ignoring Constitutional limits placed upon the powers of the state.

That is why they are changing the face of all the police forces nation wide.
They are hiring thugs with little real education and paying them more money than they would ever see otherwise while supplying them with armored vehicles, encrypted communications, and a host of weapons that would topple some third-world nations.
These thugs are beholden to the leftists and will do everything they are told, including mass murder, Constitution be damned.
That is an urban legend, originated and fueled by socialist progressives. Silly suburban liberals may feel icky around guns but true progressives own them, love them and are ready to use them.
Exhibit A: The Democratic Underground Gun Forum. Far superior to anything FR has like it. Many of them understand what's coming and are getting ready for it.
Exhibit B: They own lock, stock and barrel the top leadership of of the large metropolitan police departments. I am unfamiliar with San Diego P.D. (but the Sheriff there is William Gore who approved the shoot to kill order at Ruby Ridge) but Los Angeles, San Jose and San Francisco are completely subordinated to the leftists agenda. They already have the someone else to do their dirty work.
You are correct—Theodore Dalrymple writes about this “underclass/welfare” society that England has created which is literally burning London down.
Teach and condition children and families into Marxist ideology that they don’t have to work for anything and they are owed by the fact that they are alive—there will be no appreciation for anything—only envy and resentment and hatred and a man eat man mentality.
That is what Marxism/Socialism is all about—creating division/hatred/groups(feminist,homosexuals, la raza/black power/etc)—to divide and label and create chaos instead of unity—revolution.

I don’t want them to come over to our side when the going gets rough. It probably wouldn’t have gotten rough if they weren’t who/what they are now. They won’t change, all they will do is go along for the ride and then climb to the top of the pile after it is all over. Then once again try to tell everyone else what is right, how they should live their lives and why we can’t hold anyone responsible for their actions.
Screw them (polite wording); let them stay on their side. Win or loose.
The blogger writes well, but stops before fully developing any ideas and never fleshes out what he hints at in the title. I spent a minute trying to find the next page. There wasn’t one.
However, a convert has it's merits. Many Liberals around the US are rethinking their positions on guns. How many? Don't know. Two of my Liberal friends have asked me for my opinions on guns. What is the best self defense weapon, etc. Gives me an opportunity to try to convince them that registration is a bad idea, too.
A lot of people are scared. And when people are scared, the idealistic, ivory tower, BS is one of the first things to go.

Exhibit A is a good example of liberal owning guns but few liberals belong to DU. I’ve met lots of liberals, as has anyone else, but they usually own maybe a pistol or a shotgun. Few own anything much more than that. There are some loudmouth types that think they are Rambo, but compared to conservatives they are way outgunned.
No doubt ANY political appointment in a city, from Police Chief to Mire Marshall, is a liberal, however, many rank and file members are as mixed as the rest of the country.
Your #21 is dead on. They have been arming “their people” for a few decades now.
Useless poll. The number of people that say they do to look cool or the number that refuse to answer makes any such poll useless. We all know the people in our lives and who does and who doesn’t own a firearm and can use it.
I know a guy that owns perhaps the largest gun store in the country. His view is it is 50/50, but the vast majority of military grade weapons are not purchased by the liberals.
Let’s also not forget that liberals are emotional people and are prone to stupid decisions. Let’s hope any use of a firearm by them is given the same stupid emotional considerations.

Liberals live most of their lives in a perfect ivory tower where their omnipotent government will always protect them. This is probably reinforced by their friends and family and by the mantra of the Democrat party.
It is a shock to them when they find out that it isn’t true. A couple of good examples to offer to them are the LA riots and Katrina. It is impossible to argue against the fact that their government failed them in both situations. I tell them that they must be responsible for their own safety. It seems to make sense to them.
Also, I am not advocating anarchy. America is still mostly good. A revolution would mean that all attempts to resolve our problems would have ended in a complete failure.
We all have a lot invested in this country. Some of us — many generations of ancestors. And we all still live pretty decently. And we do have some control over the situation. All hope is not lost.
However, it is always good to hope for the best and to be prepared for the worst. That is what the founders of our Constitution taught us.
