President Barack Obama’s job approval rating sunk below 40 percent for the first time, according to Gallup’s daily tracking poll.
Data posted Sunday showed just 39 percent of Americans said they approve of Obama’s performance as president, while 54 percent said they disapprove.
His approval ratings have been in the 40 percent range for much of the year, ticking up to the low 50s in May when Osama bin Laden was killed.
At two and a half years into his presidency, Obama‘s approval ratings are lower than former President Bill Clinton’s were in August 1995.
Former President George W. Bush’s Gallup ratings did not drop below 40 percent until October 2005, two months after Hurricane Katrina.
Gallup polled 1,500 adults from August 11-13. The margin of error was plus or minus 3 percentage points.

The liberals are souring on Obama because he hasn’t fought back enough against Republicans, esp. on high profile issues such as Obamacare and the debt ceiling issue.
With Obamacare, the liberals feel they lost their chance for true socialized medicine, as the public option was not included in the bill which passed. And on the debt ceiling, the liberals feel that he should have driven a hard bargain for tax increases as part of any deal.
I think the liberals had some fantasy in their minds of the nirvana of a liberal president. They were enamored of how a liberal president such as Martin Sheen on “The West Wing” solves every problem with a liberal solution, and solves problems in a 60 minute episode.
I guess the reality that a president has to compromise and deal with congressmen of the other political party, and that the American people just don’t support their causes, is hard for liberals to take.
Now, what I wonder is this — since criticism of Obama has been deemed to be racist by luminaries such as Jimmy Carter, does that mean all these good liberals who are frustrated with Obama are racist??????

They haven’t had time to pass out from the 40’s they bought with their Friday welfare checks yet — that happens on Monday.
If only 39% approval from “adults”, his “likely voter” approval would be around 34% IMO.
notice the poll is of adults - register and likely voters will have an even lower opinion. Watch for RATS to sit out the next election - good for the down ballot good for the TEA Party - get out the candidates run against every democRAT - win the ones that look hard!! This can make 2010 look like a small turnover - oh yea get a couple more RINOs while you are at it.

That is also my opinion, and have stated it many times, as on the other thread.
It was one of my reasons for leaving.
It is no longer my America.
It is so incredible that 40 percent of a nation could be so stupid, and/or Marxist.
Sub-classes and illegals, however, are reproducing like roaches, and being indoctrinated by Marxist controlled education and media.
