OAKLAND -- Hackers carried out the second cyber-attack on BART within the past week today, breaking into the website of the union that represents the transit system's rank-and-file police and releasing a roster of 102 officers along with their home addresses, e-mail account addresses and passwords for the site.
The roster was published on a separate website, where the hackers wrote, "Yet another success."
Hackers have said they will strike back at BART for temporarily shutting down underground cellular and wi-fi service Thursday, a move BART made to try to quell a planned antipolice protest in downtown San Francisco. The protest did not materialize.
A loose-knit group known as Anonymous breached a BART website, myBART.org, on Sunday and released names, addresses, passwords and in some cases phone numbers for more than 2,000 customers.

If the BART and SF police had cracked some skulls in last week’s illegal protest (which shut down 4 BART stations), these crooks wouldn’t be in any condition to continue hacking web sites.
I do hope they catch these people and put them away for a long, long time. This is such a major breech for these police officers and their families.
I hope they do find them. And then post their names and addresses so that the BART patrons who were hacked by these jerks, the BART riders and the BART Police can return the favor of disrupting their lives for a change.
Still looking in my pocket Constitution for the amendment guaranteeing your right to have cellular service....
Let me guess. We have no right or reason to tape them when they are in public, either... If they want privacy, maybe they should find another line of work.
I’d be fine if the next thing I read about this, describes how the bad guys were found dead with a stolen SFPD shotgun and that all evidence points to suicide.
Do you contend the government can control anything that is not enumerated in the constitution?
Strange.
“I see dumb people...
... they’re everywhere...
... they walk around like everyone else...
... they don’t even know that they’re dumb...
And...
Some of them...
...THEY POST HERE”
I was joking, but I do hope they throw the book at them and toss the key.
when caught, these “truth&justice” seekers rate Life without parole and no internet access whatsoever.
They’re going to do this in Fullerton, in southern California, too....much to the joy of the ANSWER Coalition, KFI radio’s John and Ken, the L.A. Slimes and some self-styled “true conservatives.” Oh yeah, we have a FReeper who supports hacking in the cause of “social justice” and a “necessary means to an end.”
Meet txnuke.
Troll Advisory! 8-]
No, I’m saying that turning off the “boost” for a cell phone signal is not an abridgment of your right to free speech, which is what these Anonymous jerks are claiming, which is what the ACLU was threatening to sue over, and what the FCC was planning to investigate BART for doing, all claiming that BART was denying the protesters’ right to free speech.
I pay my bill and somebody better not shut down the service because of a potential mob threat. Cell phones cause mob violence just like guns kill people.
They didn’t shut down anyone’s service. They simply deactivated the wires that BOOST the service through the underground station and the tunnels, which has only been in place for about two years. BART is under no obligation to boost your cellular signal and did it strictly as a courtesy to allow its passengers to use wireless and cellular devices in the underground stations and the Transbay Tube. They didn’t jam the signal or order cellular companies to shut off service.

Don’t worry. My new meds have helped me to quit my hobby of burying bodies under the house.
Well, it’s also hot here this time of year and the smell can get kinda tough to deal with, especially when I’m cooking.
Hey, I backed up my first post when I realized I had forgotten to say that I was joking.
You should try decaf.
Sophism.
what’s the problem?
they pushed the family information for the seals that took out bin laden... without regard for their safety. now I’m supposed to be worried about this?
oh yea... union worker... got it
