Officials from the George W. Bush administration are unhappy with new presidential candidate Rick Perry’s incendiary attack on Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. And they’re going public with their complaints, Politico reports. The Texas governor, campaigning in Iowa Monday said of Bernanke, “If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I don’t know what y’all would do to him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous -- or treasonous in my opinion.” Karl Rove, one of Bush’s top White House aides and still an important Republican strategist, told Fox News, “It's his [Perry’s] first time on the national stage, and it was a very unfortunate comment. You don't accuse the chairman of the Federal Reserve of being a traitor to his country and being guilty of treason and suggesting that we treat him pretty ugly in Texas. That's not a presidential statement. . . . Governor Perry is going to have to fight the impression that he's a cowboy from Texas. This simply added to it.” Pete Wehner, a deputy assistant to President Bush wrote in Commentary: “People shouldn’t throw around the words ‘almost treasonous’ loosely. And certainly a person running for president shouldn’t do such a thing. To say someone is treasonous means he is a traitor to his country. In the long catalogue of crimes an individual can commit, there are not many that are worse than treason.”

Rove needs to shut up before he costs us yet another election. And yes, how dare anyone criticize the a$$hat that caused this entire mess to begin with?! The nerve!!! *sigh*
Yup. The Bushs look down on Perry like the help. Incidentally, I read the book two years ago and saw the movie last night. The Help is worth seeing, folks. But I said a few months ago that if Perry gets in and does well, Jeb Bush may be stepping in. See my tag line.

Pig face Karl Rove is now an automatic channel change in our house.
I'm starting to like Perry because of this.
Karl Rove has clearly demonstrated that he is an ‘establishment’ Republican and an enemy of Republican conservatives. I’m not sure what, if anything, George W. Bush can do with Rove at this late date but Karl is rapidly distancing himself from the TEA party and by doing so, in effect, choosing sides. He is definitely on the losing side. 2012 will be no time for ‘good-old-boy’, ‘go-along-to-get-along’, politics as usual. The U.S. is in deep trouble and even the MSM can’t really hide that reality. They can only try to blame everyone but Obama and his party. That isn’t working. 2012 will be a major change in Washington. ‘Old political hands’ such as Karl Rove will be seen as the enemies of the kind of conservative, constitutional change necessary and he will be relegated to irrelevance, if he isn’t, already.

The Bush brand has been tarnished to the point that Jeb would be wasting his dime to get into the race.
They even thought they were powerful enough to unseat him with one of their favorite Rinos Kay Baily...he kicked her A...so who has the power here, is the question? No longer the Bush clan.

Printing more money would qualify as a betrayal of trust in my book.
Now Bush Aides (i.e. Rove) blast Perry. What gives? There must be a strategery that you can explain to me.
I don’t like Bush and Rove is one of the many reasons I don’t.
Any candidate disliked by Bush, Rove et al., looks good to me.
I don’t believe in “compassionate” conservativism. I like the REAL thing.
Rove is a scumbag and many of Bush’s aides are RINOs as is Mr. Bush.
It could be the rise of the Tea Party that changes the tone in this election ...I hope so.
