Report: APA wants to destigmatize pedophilia
One News Now ^ | August 19, 2011 | Charlie Butts

Several well-known researchers recently made unexpected arguments on pedophilia at an academic conference in Baltimore.

Liberty Counsel Action's Matt Barber attended the conference and says he felt he was on a different planet, as the presenting professionals aimed to remove pedophilia from the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). That would mean that pedophilia would no longer be considered a mental disorder.

"The entire focus of the event was on the victimhood of the pedophile," Barber accounts. There was "very little concern for the children who are the victims of these individuals when they are raped, who these individuals lust after," he adds.

And he says the experts' discussions were focused on "destigmatizing pedophilia ... removing the stigma, and [getting] the public to stop demonizing pedophiles."

But the attorney reports that the APA is already moving toward declassifying pedophilia as a mental disorder "by saying that a pedophile is only a pedophile in their latest DSM ... if they are distressed by their attractions or behaviors."

So Barber decides that would bring the APA one step closer to de-classifying pedophilia as a mental disorder, as they did homosexuality in the 1970s.

AB499 in CA could be a first step. It lets 12 yos consent to STD prevention medical care like the gardasil vaccine without parental involvement or notice.

That’s how homosexuality began it’s journey into our homes, schools, society and government. Next thing you, Ann Landers will retract, also.

This is the final, long overdue stake-through-the-heart of the APA.

This is the exact same technique they used to mainstream homosexualism.
It took 40 years or so but look at their success.

Get ready for similar campaign that ends up with pedophiles becoming another protected class.

Complete BS. Matt Barber is a loon, and there’s a reason he doesn’t identify the conference in question. It was NOT the APA. This story is written very carefully to be deceptive, and try to convince people that this was the APA. A more accurate account shows that it was a group completely unaffiliated with the APA:

This is one of those "tipping points" you've been hearing so much about lately; one of Ronald Reagan's "bright shinning light differences" defining legitimate and bona fide authority and tyranny, reign without the mandate of heaven.

Such a move, after it is brought over the line into rationalized rule of law, and the Christian citizen is obliged to oppose it, it becomes an unmistakable moment when opposition is obedience to God.

It can't be dismissed with a shrug, in my opinion. Such policy must be opposed, and by any and all means.

Yes, we've reached this kind of intolerable situation in other related areas touching upon life and being but there has usually been some ambiguity, usually a conflict between the rights of one group with less political clout over the "rights" of another class.

When the state allows the adoption of children by homosexuals then the compelling state interest served by restricting marriages to one man and one woman - at one time - goes out the window. For the only reason the State has any such compelling interest in becoming a Third Party to the unique marriage covenant, even defining legitimacy is the protection of the welfare of children.

Once that is tossed away, and within the general social norms tolerated (even embraced) by a majority of our fellow Americans, what might be defined as a compelling interest not to devolve such covenants to the People becomes arbitrary, perhaps destructive of the ends for which it is allowed to exist.

If the State has given up the protection of the welfare of children completely, the protection of innocence and the prevention of those premature sexual awakenings with a proven affect upon future citizens then what need have we for such a State?

It becomes our duty to alter or abolish it because it has become demonstrably destructive of those ends for which it is established. It has become tyranny.

Be warned, policy makers. This madness embraced by this group of "recognized scientists," should it become policy, would remove the legitimacy of the State.

AB499 in CA could be a first step. It lets 12 yos consent to STD prevention medical care like the gardasil vaccine without parental involvement or notice.

Now this is interesting on a number of levels.

Where does a 12 year old get the money for STD prevention medical care or for that matter even a doctor’s visit?

Well the obvious answer is his/her adult lover is footing the bill and supplying transportation.

So legally any doctor supplying this care is required to report this abuse to the police or child welfare authorities.

So one of two things would happen in such a case; the doctor obeys the law and reports the child abuser and he goes to jail and the parents find out or the doctors do not report the abuser and the child gets the treatment and the abuse continues. For the law to make sense it would have to circumvent the requirement for doctors to report child abuse.

The other law that must be rendered mute as you alluded to is the age of consent. How law makers can conceive of changing this law simply boggles the mind. How can a child of 12 be considered to capable of informed consent to an adult sexual relationship is beyond my imagination.

A few articles were pinged out about this push to normalized the rape of children, but just in case anyone missed it, here's another article that got missed. The evil freakshow will continue - WILL - unless and until WE do something about it. It's up to US - the regular people - to put a stop to it. Ideas? Elected SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES. Ones with GUTS and principles. Speak up anywhere and everywhere. Get together with like minded people and protest - for instance, at schools who want "gay history" or fag clubs. Etc. I have more ideas.

I never in my life thought we would be in a situation like the Soviet Union. Yet here we are.

The next step will be to define all religious and conservative people as mentally ill. Which will happen soon.

Oh look this is how they went about getting the queer agenda started.

Anyone who calls themselves a republican and who states they have no problem with the homosexuals agenda, marrying, adopting, serving openly in the military, etc needs to call themselves what they are.

LIBERALS and then they need to have a word with themselves because of them shutting up and coming out with the most stupid comments like” well I have a friend who is a homosexual and he is nice he just wants to be left alone and marry’

Those kind of ignorant comments have helped us to get to where we are today.
Those who always shut up when they are about conversation about homosexuals are just as bad and cowardly.

If people had spoken up years ago and demanded that this agenda was to ruin the family and then the country we woud not be where we are now.

just wrote similar comments but in a stronger way.

Some of us spoke up years ago, some still speak up even when it is not PC today to do so but we stood by our views and convictions.

It is the cowards and those who come out with”I have a homosexual friend and they are nice etc’ are the people who the homosexuals and cross dresser relied on.

For any trolls trolling right now and I guarantee there is then speak up or be a coward for the rest of your life and do not complain when your 12 year old grandchild or child has sex with a 35 year man etc.

Thanks. The thread’s a bit old, so there probably won’t be a lot of people seeing it.

It was these insane scumbags who took homosexuality out of the DSM and started pressing our society to accept them as normal.

In recent years, one of the primary advocates for removing homosexuality from the DSM recanted and admitted he was wrong.
